With DC United's season ending several weeks ago and too much Thanksgiving stuffing yesterday some of you may have already be getting outta shape. Tailgating wise. Sunday will provide an opportunity for clandestine red cup tailgating as the Terps host Penn St. in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Men's tournament. Game is at 5 pm. I've never had a problem with low key beer drinking near Ludwig Field but no kegs, beer pong, etc. Overall #2 seeded Terps are again among the contenders for a Natl title. http://www.ncaa.com/brackets/2010/ncaa_bracket_DI_soccer_men.html
I didn't make the game either. I ended up going to the 'Skins game for free. A friend of friend had an extra ticket and they called and woke me up at 9am.
Unless, for some reason, you're a Vikings fan. Let me know if you want to go on Saturday (1 pm) for the Michigan game. I'm 90% likely to go again. The game against Penn St wasn't as offensive as I had hoped (by either team) but the late game-winning volley from Kemp was sweet and worth the $10.
The MD fans don't want to hear this, but I really like the Mich attack. I'm predicting an upset. Earlier this year, I planned to name Justin Meram as my sleeper in the draft - well, until he started scoring tons of goals - now everybody knows about him. Soony Saad is the freshman of the year. I expect that he'll stay until next year to play one more year with his older brother. If you like attack - the Michigan game is the one to watch. Unfortunately, I won't be at the game. I'm watching this forward in Louisville (D2) Thursday night and I'll be at the Akron-Cal game on Saturday. I was going to try and get to the Friday match at UNC vs SMU (but I've already seen both of these teams this year) and it's a 16 hour drive.
Joel, I am planning to be at the match Saturday. Like Joe mentioned, this is going to be a game to watch.
