He has tremendous spin and movement on his shots...difficult to catch. I usually try to get my hands and body in front of them.

Greco does more defensively and we need that right now.

Greco doesnt get enough respect on this team just like Taddei.

Greco the last couple of weeks has looked like he's borrowed a pair of Lamela's boots.

Probably the best I've seen out of him ever

If Marquinho can hit more shots on target like he did against Genoa then he could become very useful. Even if he doesn't score, as long as he can get a rebound Osvaldo or Borini will pounce on it.

I agree. I don't think that going into the future either are full time solutions but they're both very solid players capable of having a role on a great team.

Taddei has his limitations but heart and effort are certainly not among them.

Marquinho already is a useful tool to have as he adds a lot to the attack coming in as a sub. He'll get his chance to do more.

im not really a fan of him, this guy needs to learn when to pass and shoot, he has a shot from practically half way , where he can hardly see teh goals, and sends it into the stands most of the time

    ....................................................................wtf?

Are you talking about Totti's shooting? Marq gets the majority of his shots on target and has been very close to scoring numerous times.

totally agree with you, Marquinho's long-range shots have been one of the best in terms of accuracy in our team...And he was the one who drew most of the "red card" - esque fouls in the Milan game...I think he is quite a good player and would be ok to sign him if his wages are low and transfer fee reasonable

I'll repeat what I said in the match thread. I like the guy and I hope we decide to keep him, he has deserved it so far.

    Marco Antonio de Mattos Filho

There is/was likely another Marco within Marquinho's family or youth teams, and he was the smaller or younger of the two (at least back then).

    Marquinho = Little Marco

I loved watching Jose Angel finally subbed out. The Fiore game turned around 180 degrees when Marquinho came in for that useless player. Sadly we had already wasted half the game by then.

I love what they say here that Marquinho playing outside his natural position played much better than Jose Angel (in his natural role) has, arguably during the whole season.

If Luis Enrique wants to make the team improve this is a switch that has to be permanent, this team is going nowhere with Jose Angel as our wingback.

If you ask me, we should buy him as he has the potential to become our left-sided Alves

Still think we are selling Angel short way too soon. He's still so young and raw and has shown flashes of quality at times. With a bit more development and patience he could become a solid wingback.

i agree. he can at least be a bench/backup LB

the only players imo we should get rid of are kjaer, bojan, and cicinho

For me Kjaer has done better than J. Angel...And getting rid of Kjaer is so simple just do not sign him...On the other hand, who the f*** would want Angel? Hardly you can get more than a million from him...

Bojan has shown much more potential actually, and it is good that we have him for next season...

I'm OK keeping Jose Angel as a depth player or loan him out for a season, but he is not Roma starting material, not even for this 'progetto' phase everyone talks about.

I don't see why Marquinho is not a starter, he has 10x the grinta JA will ever have, and his passes and shots are actually on target, unlike JA's 1/250 pass completion ration, and I'm not even goign into his shooting.

I'll even take Taddei on the left and Rossi on the right, but Jose Angel is not a starter.

    Jose Angel out <

Whatever money we put aside to sign Gago or Kjaer should be put towards signing Marq.

Even if we pick up a better midfielder/LB this summer he'd be a great depth player, and would be a great super sub against a tired defense.

    I want to keep Marquinho.

Even as depth in the midfield he'd be a quality signing. Especially if we get Europa and play a billion matches next season.

Still I worry about his reported price on the loan option €6m. Even though I think he's been good Sabatini might look at that and think he can find similar value for cheaper. I wish that price was something like €4m-€5m.

Agree with the rest of you,Marquinho is a must keep.He has been the only bright player for us in this 2nd half of the season.
