Who said I was outraged ? It's not like he has proven to be indispensable for the NT. He hasn't proved anything with us. He makes his own choices and that's fine. Maybe he does care more about RM than the NT. Although it's hard to find Brazilian players who will pass up a chance to play for the NT and try to prove themselves and secure a spot.

I don't know if he lied or not. If he did, then I agree with our coach with giving him a small punishment. The coach's responsibility is to not only call good players, but to have committed players. Marcelo will get another chance. There is no doubt about it. But if he does care about playing for the NT, he better not pull any funny business again.

He's your best left-back. Sounds like the coach is cutting his nose off to spite the face.

Menzes is a tard, his team selection is meh... And I will tell you that Brazil wont do to well in this tournament, and I can see Argentina winning it.

Marcelo is indeed their best left-back.

It's Copa America and it's time to experiment players. One full back won't make or break the team. Specially when we will have Neymar operating on that side trying to cause havoc on other team's defenses.

We often have Ronaldo on our left hand side and we look much less of an attacking threat when Marcelo doesn't play. I think he'll be a miss.

Another reason why Marcelo not playing for Brazil is a bonus. Marcelo couldn't possibly play his game cleaning the mess left by Neymar, Robinho, Ronaldinho, whoever's on that left flank with him. Don't give me the Ronaldo doesn't track back because he's simply a better player than anyone on the Brazil team these days.

Not having Ronaldo on the team results in more tracking back, too. That's a bonus! Let's kick him back to Manchester! We've got a bonus!!

Marcelo being left out is ridicilous. If the coach feels he is not committed, it is understandable, but trying to justify it by criticizing Marcelo as a player is BS.

Marcelo was a keypoint in our left side. His overlapping runs gave Ronaldo the space he needed to do some magic.

Why should he get punished when (quote from Madrid) "(Marcelo) joined the Brazil team camp on 24 March to prepare for the friendly against Scotland. Due to persistent pain, Marcelo was unable to participate in the match, fact certified by the Brazilian Football Confederation ... the Santias-Real Madrid Medical Services decided to explore the injury with a magnetic resonance following consultation with Brazil national team Head of Medical Services Dr. Runco ... This is the reason behind the player's absence from the squad list for Real Madrid's 2 April league match against Sporting Gijon."

So ... the story goes that he bumped with someone during training and left with back pain. The exam results (done by the Brazilian medical staff) didn't show anything but he was allowed not to play.

But it is true that he didn't play for Real in the next 2 weeks or so ... as I understand it.

What seems to have burned Marcelo is that he mistakenly sent an email to someone on the NT that has made Mano believe his commitment is not there. Only he knows what's on the email. He hasn't really revealed it's content. So I can't really say if he is doing the right or the wrong thing. My opinion, as I stated, is based on hypothetical information.

Or there was no email at all and your coach, who ever he is, is making stuff up.

As if a player like Marcelo would warrant such a lie and a controversy. He is no Romario. In the same interview he gave perfectly good tactical reasons he didn't call other players. Why would he just make something up for Marcelo ?

Marcelo didn't say anything when Busquets called him a monkey either. Looks like he doesn't care about these things.

What does that have to do with anything ???

One other thing to point out is that Brazil does not have to qualify for the 2014 World Cup. Therefore we don't play competitive qualifying games and all of these friendlies are important in order define the team.

Nothing with the point we were talking about. Just wanted to point out that he's not the type of guy that comes out and denies a rumor or claims against him.

How can someone send an email by accident to his NT coach anyway lol?

Marcelo thanks Mourinho for defending the Brazilian:

This is why players are willing to sacrifice for Mou.

It sounds to me like Mano suspected something but didn't bother to contact Marcelo or Real for their side of the story, and jumped straight to conclusions. If so, that's a bit disappointing.

Brazil has already qualified for Confederations and World Cups so there won't be any qualifying games to play. I guess we'll have to see if Mano calls him for further friendlies.

He bombs this Copa and he'll be watching no differently than he's made Marcelo.

No Kaka, and the stupid reason to exclude means that I will be rooting for Argentina and everyone playing Brazil in Copa America.

I can't bring myself to root for that big nosed midget. With that said I want Menezes to do terribly so he'll be made a fool.

Wish there was some way Japan could win or a meteor could hit the smurf in his face.

I know what you mean but I am hopping Di Maria and Higuain steal the spot from the cheating dwarf.

I think the Copa will be a good way for Higuain to build his form before the pre-season.

I just hope he doesnt pick any injuries up.
