    Manchester United Team News
Injured: Rafael (Shoulder), Vidic (Calf Muscle Strain), Fletcher (Virus)

United have started the season strongly with two wins including a convincing 3-0 victory over Arsenal's local rival Tottenham. After a shakey start to his United career De Gea has shown hints of the talent that resulted in his United signing and will be hoping to manage another home clean sheet. With some familiar faces returning to the squad after Injury Sir Alex will be facing a couple of selection headaches especially after Welbeck's MOM performance and the return of last seasons Mexican ensation Hernandez.

    Arsenal Team News
Injured: Koscielny (Back), Rosicky (Groin, doubtful), Djourou (Hamstring), Gibbs (Hamstring), Diaby (Ankle/Foot), Eastmond (Ankle/Foot)
    Suspended: Emmanuel Frimpong, Gervinho

After their 2-0 drubbing by Liverpool in the second week of fixtures and the sale of Fabregas real questions are being asked of Arsenal's top four credentials with most having written off any hope of them achieving Premier League success in the forseable future. With just over a week left til the transfer window closes Wenger's squad is looking paper thin.

    Meetings Last season:
Manchester United 1 - 0 Arsenal Old Trafford, Manchester
Arsenal 1 - 0 Manchester United Emirates Stadium, London

    Photo not showing?

Great title anyway. Let's out-power them.

I wonder if we still use our "big game" line up against them.

It's strange how much difference selling two players can make to how a team is perceived. I guess the big thing is that they lost two of their best and from a similar position.

Isolate RVP and their attack will struggle. Arsenal don't have a good record in recent times at Old Trafford. Should be fun

They also miss their regular LB and the backup LB at the moment. Also their new recruit and DM face three match ban, a few injured back and they will look better.

    1. I think people are dismissing Arsenal (for this match) entirely too easily.

    2. I am curious to know what folks think they'll run out in terms of formation and personnel.

    My guess:

    ---------------------RVP
    Arshavin-----------------------------Walcott
    ------------------XXXXXX
    -------------Song--------Ramsey
    Jenkinson------------------------------Sagna
    ------------Vermalen-----XXXX
    ------------------Szczęsny

XXXX one of the injured players I guess.

Given Evra's form (matched up with the speedy Walcott) and the positional "strength" of our CMs, I don't see it as a walk for us by any means. RVP can of course have a strong game and make trouble for our backline which wont be the most experienced.

Song was also charged for stamping Barton and should be banned for 3 matches, starting with the United one.

really? That is tough on them then. Injuries to like 3 starters (CB, LB, CM) and suspensions in CM + Wing/FW

wow... we sure are starting them early this season.

its on setanta in canada as well

since Frimpong didnt get a straight red he is out for 1 game. maybe i am thinking a few years back but isnt there some way to play the next game and delay the ban? i know Nicky Butt did it (as an example) after getting 2 reds in 2 games.

This should also be a prematch thread. We should make a separate match thread closer to the date.

Wenger claims Wilshere is out for 2-3 weeks with his ankle injury. Whether this is yet another Reyes type comment is unknown.

Reyes....who tackled him when he went down, execution-style, knees down then torso forward, against us? I think it was Gaz but it might have been Giggsy.

It does not. My own personal opinion. The match threads are open too early.

Just curious if there was a reason. I kind of like having the match threads a little earlier.

So, who do they even have fit and available to play in midfield?

    Ramsey, Rosicky and...?

Is Wenger going to suit up himself?

    Wilshere - Injured
    Diaby - Injured

    Song - suspended
    Frimpong - suspended right?
