Why do the (British) commentators on Fox Soccer keep calling Adebayor "the Tongan"? He's from Togo, not Tonga, so he should be referred to as "Togolese.":mad:

Crap. Looked like there might've been something there. It was always a presumed L coming in though.

Not that losing 2-1 at City is a horrible result, but my goodness, why did they have to tease us? They played good enough to at least come away with a point for ~60 minutes, and then the wheels completely fell off. I don't understand why AVB left the Defoe substitution so late and why it wasn't Dempsey that was subbed off. He wasn't doing anything anyways.

AVB's certainly not the best manager in the world, but I wouldn't put him below league average. This team could look a lot different once Dembele and Parker come back.

Ade was taken off to prevent a red card.

Really. Remember a couple of seasons ago when Modric was out for spell (2 months?). Spurs were average at best. At the moment, Spurs are bordering on 4th with Dembele being out (I think Sandro is fine as a replacement for Parker). Dembele will make a big difference when he returns.

I am seeing that Dempsey is not fitting in well. This is a concern.

Disappointing result... Seems to be the norm lately with the exception of the Maribor game. On the optimistic side we still have 2/3 of the season yet to go. That's a lot of games yet to play. So while things could be much worse (i.e. sitting in relegation zone with 2 pts from 8 games under Juande) AVB's start (FIRST season mind you) is not so bad to be having such melt downs over... yet. I guess I'm just used to it (Spurs inconsistency, the let downs etc.) so it doesn't phase me.

Besides we have the perfect tonic coming up with a North London derby... another Euro night with Lazio and hell we even have a hot Wet Spam (3pts in front of us!) before Liverpool visits.

IMO, we're just a Moutinho away from being a solid #4 club

add another top CB to replace Gallas, and a bit more depth in several positions, and Spurs would challenge the top 3

Spurs were outclassed at Man City, plain and simple, just don't have the quality depth the top 3 in the premier league have. i don't blame AVB for the loss, as much as i was hoping they could hang on

gotta remember, Spurs are missing Parker, BAE, Kaboul, Dembele - thats 4 starters (and Ade had been out for most of the season thus far for various reasons)

just need to hang in there within a reasonable points range of 4th til January, and get that one class midfielder they must have if they want to be a top 4 club

that means beating the Wigans & Norwiches more so than what happens vs the Manchesters

That's a bit generous. He's been terrible all season. He simply doesn't fit into this system. IMO the only position he's fit for is CF.
