Rankings dont mean everything I already explained how it was wrong earlier, however the turkish league is not that bad. Its up and coming with teams starting to make it farther in the european competitions as of late. In the very least Makakula deserves a spot on the team because he's been scoring. Let's see how he plays in the warm-up matches and we'll see if he deserves a spot.

how about yannick djalo's hat trick today? all 3 of his goals was way nicer than anything Makukula ever did this season.

Djalo isn't that good of a player , he misses way to many chances to even gamble on him bringing to the WC. I don't see why we don't pick the player who actually scores but you want someone who plays for Sporting just because ... well they play for Sporting. Lets also not forget that Mak plays for one of the worse teams in their league and still scores. Lets also NOT forget who he scores more than. he scores more than "proven" goal scorers. He's playing to well NOT to go. I think it would be unfair to bring a guy like Postiga,Saleiro,Djalo,Gomes or Almeida when they don't play or aren't very good. Mak 18 goals Guiza 9 goals!
Yannick was injured all season he has loads of pace which can unsettle the opposition. for me its simple. Select 3 strikers, Liedson for his all around ability,workrate, and finishing, Makukula for his Physical presence, and Yannick Djalo for his pace and agility.
But the trick is: no way is Almeida going to be left off. Do we bring 4 strikers - all of whom are average (by world standards) - or do we bring an extra midfielder? I tend to think that Maku. coming to SA is more likely than Djalo - for the simple reason that Queiroz already has players of Djalo's characteristics (Danny, Simao) who can fill in as 2nd strikers. On the other hand, I am a firm believer in the synergistic value of having players who are used to each other (i.e. Euro 04: Carvalho, Maniche, Costinha, Deco) so the idea of pairing Djalo and Liedson is -almost- appealing. Almost. How many players can we bring ?
So what if he was injured? That still doesn't mean he can score because he can't simple as that. Djalo would be a waste to call up, he's simply not good enough. Liedson,Makukula, and it probably would be Almeida.

yea its liedsons fault that sporting did so bad this year, no one elses. Put liedson in fukin turkey and he'd score about 30 goals there too. Its a terrible league and the fact that mak has 20+ goals proves that. He couldnt even secure a starting spot in bolton
