Here's another great article: http://blog.sfgate.com/soccer/2012/11/02/your-choice-the-quakes-v-the-galaxy-as-election-flyer/
If we can't beat LA in this series, we don't deserve the Cup. That said, I'm torn about this match. I almost would like us to lose so we would be in that comeback mode we play so well in on the second leg. Of course, beating LA back to back wouldn't be bad either. Go Quakes!

I must respectfully disagree with Robert Jonas. The Comeback, #3 on his list, is in my mind the greatest sporting event of any sort in San Jose history. Epic is too puny a word for that game.
Looks like we'll at least be light on the LA support this time on the return leg. From the sound of it the ACB isn't coming back after their most recent run in with trouble (to their credit it's by their own choice not to return).
My Theory: Kaval. Since he's come online, the team has improved significantly both on and off the field. He's helped get the soccer side get what they need from the Owners.
From the LA board re Salazar Well...we knew they hated Lenny. And that they were too stupid to know that it's i-after-e-except-after-c. But at least they're scared of Salazar too.
This season Salazar has reffed the following San Jose games: April 14: NYRB 2 - 2 San Jose -- the one where Rafa Marquez took out Shea Salinas and didn't get a card. No reds and two yellows for each team in that game -- ours were for Salinas (before he got his collarbone broken) and Chavez. May 13: San Jose 1 - 1 Chivas USA -- this was during the string of games where Alan Gordon scored late to tie or win. Chivas scored in the fourth minute and Gordon scored in the 88th minute to tie it. No reds and five yellows in that game -- three for San Jose, for Stephenson, Corrales and Garza. Salazar has also reffed the following LA games this season: March 31: LA 1 - 3 New England (snicker). No cards issued in that game. April 28: LA 1 - 1 Dallas. No reds, six yellows -- three for each team -- including a yellow for Beckham for dissent in the 95th minute. He also gave a penalty kick to Dallas after LA's scrub keeper (Gaudette) took out some guy in the box (and got a yellow). So maybe he won't buy LA's bullshit where their "stars" surround the ref when they disagree with a call. We can hope.
Plus he's been the bane of the Sounders and if there's one team that complains nearly as much as LA it's Shittle. As much as LA dominated the game against Vancouver they got all the calls and were handed the game. Long as its called fair, I look forward to the Quakes handing LA their asses.

LA being LA: Hey, sports fans! I just learned that I can infract people for their posts on other boards. I am sorely tempted...
Forgot to post this - I heard KQED give a shout out to the Earthquakes playoff game on Sunday this morning. I thought that was pretty cool to hear.
Just found out something funny. After what happened on 10/21, the Quakes FO were not going to let LA fans attend the 11/7 game until the Ultras intervened and made them change their decision. In contrast, ACB was blaming the Ultras when their members got arrested for throwing beers at the cops. Why the Ultras decided to lobby for them shall be determined later...
Let me guess, you want to make sure they see the tifo depicting the ACB bending over to pick up a bar of soap in the Santa Clara County jail??
Good joke, but letting jerks be jerks is the American way. Our FO starts banning visiting supporters, and other FO's start banning the Ultras. (please, before anyone gets all huffy, I'm not calling Utras jerks. One man's jerk is another man's hero, I'm just restating some basic Rights in as few words as possible)
