I would think the obvious first question is have you contacted American University in DC? But, I would say the your best bet may be looking at a NAIA school. For the most part there are both more scholarships and dollars available there. Also these schools tend to bring in more foriegn student atheletes. Below is a link to the NAIA. http://www.naia.org/index.html Also, good luck on taking the TOEFL.
Outside of my own self-serving intrests, that was why i recommended my alma mater to him. UNCG has a good track record of briniging in foreign students. (Quakes striker Alejandro Moreno, for example)
well i got 250 in toefel...btw the problem is i dunno where to look US is soo big and i dunno which uni to contact..
Not to rain on your parade, but perhaps you should first pick your school, then research if they have a soccer program. If they do, then contact their coaching staff and ask for a walk-on tryout. Despite what many people think...its not easy to get a US college soccer scholarship just because you're a foreigner. You have to go through the same channels and routines as all of the domestic players here in the US. I wish you the best of luck!!
well i dont care where to study but i love soccer and i really want to be a professional soccer player but here where i live yu dont really care much about soccer talents and i'm not soo good in searching for a scholarship...i've been searching for 4 years and i got nuthin...it really means alot for me...soccer is my life ...and am having a bad soccer career here... thxx anywayz
im not sure how good of a college or university you want, but my local university Salisbury University is a small sized but rising college. i believe it was voted one of the best colleges at a good price and the community isnt bad either. Theres a huge amount of asians growing more and more, especially koreans, and a big hispanic population too. im not sure how good soccer is for that school, but a lot of our high schools won the Maryland Level and there is one soccer player who is korean andplays for FC Dallas, his name is Alex Yi i think http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/players/bio.jsp?team=fcd&player=yi_a&playerId=yi0059326 but he lives near our city and visits often. i think itd be pretty easy to get a scholarship here, and i think its worth a shot http://www.salisbury.edu/ Salisbury is a growing city and more and more the streets are getting crowded, i think this city would be a good place to start your soccer career. some high schooler in our area recently signed with MILS indoor league, but scouts said that if he finished college first he probably would've made MLS or even higher. theres a lot of great soccer players in my area, and one of them Scott Sparrow, he was in my gym class and ive seen him play soccer and theres been a lot of news reports on him, but i heard he's getting contacted by college scouts a lot good luck
Absolutely no chance of getting a soccer scholarship there. It's a Division III school. Of course, there's always the possibility of trying to get an academic scholarship.
If you need help in organising a soccer scholarship in the U.S. then get in touch withwww.soccerscholaracademy.com. They're brilliant and U.K. based!
