Their keeper coach is a friend of mine. From what I understand, the roster will be heavily former college kids that played for the youth club OP. Should garner at least a little interest for that fact alone.
When Matt McCoy does sports on WTVN, he tells the Blue Jackets score, who scored, how many saves the goalie had, often has interviews leading up to the matches and afterward as well as any pertinent news such as injuries, moves to and from minor league, etc. We're lucky he even reports the Crew scores. I still say he should get blasted by us reminding him about this pro team in town and that he should report on them at least as much as the Blue Jackets. I thought about putting together an e-mail each day about Crew-related news and posting it on here and having anyone who wants to participate send him that e-mail to remind him and see how it goes. I was watching Channel 10 the other day and after Beau Bishop finished with sports, he came over to the anchor desk and started talking Premier League with Chuck Strickler. We all know Beau being a fan from the weekly Crew show and I know Chuck as he comes from near where I grew up and he is a huge soccer fan. I was reffing the St. Charles varsity boys last year and ran into him as he was getting ready to do PA for the match. Also, Josh Poland is the Crew stadium PA guy and is a big fan of soccer and we have had some good discussions about not only the Crew and MLS, but English football. I only watch channel 10 so I don't know who are fans on the other stations. I guess what that leads to is that even though channel 10 is part of the Dispatch Group, I think, that they still discuss soccer on the air so they have not been told that it is a forbidden topic. Who's with me on copying an e-mail I create each day to Matt McCoy at WTVN? Might even want to copy Joel Riley, too. Maybe someone could create a better message than I and we all could copy it. I am just very frustrated and just want to blow up his e-mail and maybe he'll get the message.
Probably better looking, obviously more talented and might even be better dancers. Maybe they can play a scimmage at halftime at games. Better than watching a bunch of 9 year old rug rats running around ripping shots into Pugg goals.

Not to hijack the thread into something other than media, but it would be a cool thing for the nordecke to get behind them. Pretty sure these are all amateur players and to have support from us would probably mean a lot to them.
