    2 things:

-This is almost as painful to watch as it was back then. Defense was just horrid on some of those goals.

-Can we have THAT Torres back, please? No? Yeah, I know...

I remember one memorable quote after that game - "Pffft, Arshavin did nothing that game other than score four goals..." Says a lot about the quality of the defending... I was in the Tigin in Stamford Ct for that one, didn't go back there for a while afterwards.

You guys have got to forget the old Torres, he's gone, finished, washed up. He was replaced in his last season with us, after his injury, by a mere shadow of that guy. I think he scored 3 goals and only when he had one hand on a goalpost.
He peaked when he came to us under the tutalage of Rafa, who brought him in and gave him the confidence he needed, as well as partnering him with Stevie G and the rest of the team.
We sold !!! that shadow, for a lot of money, to the Chavs.
Instead of lamenting a loss, we should be happy he went when he did for the amount of money we received.
Now we should be working on finding someone who can work with Lois up top, or someone to release Gerard to move up into the hole. I have doubts about Lucas' full recovery, shame, he was just reaching his best with the Liverpool shirt.

We have to win this match. BR is currently 3 points behind Uncle Woy at the same point two years ago. Playing more attractively can only be a justification for so long. eventually we need to pick up points

Fair point, and I do agree that it's about time the results start coming in, but it's amazing how much more I'm enjoying this season than that one. Goodness that was a dark time for the club - Woy, the cowboys nearly driving us into administration, actually paying money and giving up prospects for Paul effing Konchesky!?!

At least we have Suso, Sterling, Shelvey, and Suarez to give us hope (plus some other guys whose last names don't start with S).

Must win? But aren't they all! Should win? Yes, yes we should. But it's Wigan. Have no idea what will transpire tomorrow but we really need 3pts.

There is added drama to this match this year. I'm sure both Martinez and Rodgers have the fixture circled on the calendar. Roberto to stick it to us that he got passed up for the job and brenden to prove to Henry he
    picked the right man.

@LFC: LFC team to face Wigan: Reina, Wisdom, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Allen, Gerrard, Enrique, Suso, Sterling, Suarez.

    So where does Enrique play?

Unfortunately for Rodgers there are a few fixtures he's probably got circled, not just Martinez but Clarke(WBA) and AVB(Spurs) were also contenders as well as the Swansea fixture and possibly even West Ham to prove he got the Carroll loan right. Part and parcel of managing a bigger club though.

Thought we'd do the 3 man backline again but it looks like he's our left winger! AH!

Boring first half, couldn't get anything going. Suso was our most dangerous player....and he was subbed off for Henderson in the 35th min

He didn't seem to be having trouble moving but maybe the kick to the ankle is bothering him

Well that was sh!t. What's with five defenders? And slow and pedestrian in possession, if there is an attacking plan to our side, I can't make out what it is. I have never seen a team so afraid to commit men forward as Liverpool has been in the first 45 minutes. Sort it out Rodgers!

I take everything back everything I said about Enrique. That pass was spectacular, the run was spectacular, and he's been dominant in the defensive third.

Could easily be 5-0 already. Well done in the second half.

Now he puts a goal on Hendo's foot but Hendo sends the kick to Ireland.

"Johnson to RW. Johnson to RW."
    "Nahhhh. How about Enrique?"

    Rodgers is a mega troll.
