LIVERPOOL vs Hearts of Midlothian. UEFA Europa League.
Second leg and on our sod. How many times have we picked it up here on Anfield Night.
Renewed optimism now after our Citeh match. Got to be careful, they're desperate and will come at us and press. Control, control, control. Is the key.
I'm sure we have some changes and some gypsies among you those and with the score.

Looking forward to this ... another match to get our new way of playing perfected ... after his recent run outs Sterling may have to be rested for Arsenal -- what a nice problem to have.

Bring in Downing and all the other reserves for this one ;)

In. Looking forward to a comprehensive thrashing of Hearts in all but the scoreline. The 1-0 up there was pre-Citeh confidence so even with reserves playing, I'm optimistic a 2-0 or 3-0 home win is in store.

I hope Carroll gets a start and scores a brace. Or even a hat trick.

assaidi can't play in this tie becasue he played this round for herenveen. he can play in europa if we make it to the group stages. which is a shame because this would be the perfect match to make a debut. i like the lineup, but i'd expect spearing and carroll to be sold/foot out the door by then. there's just too much smoke without fire on those two.

i'm betting we throw sahin on to assimilate him a little before arsenal, though i expect shelvey to start that game. so maybe a henderson, shelvey, sahin midfield? and i'll go with borini, downing and sterling up front. the possibilities are endless now that we know rodgers is a super-genius line-up hustler!

this is a match that begs for an early goal. if it's Liverpool, Hearts will be very vulnerable to the counter. if it's Hearts, what a bummer, but the remaining hour (?) would be very interesting.

i hope for a 3-0 result (4-0 agg ), Shelvers, Borini and Sterling...

    Reina
    Kelly Carragher Coates Robinson
    Henderson Shelvey
    Sahin
    Downing Carroll Suarez
Unless Carroll gets sold, in that case Suarez takes his spot and Borini plays. Sahin needs to play a game before Arsenal.

i doubt that Suarez plays more than 15 minutes and only if he's needed. Borini, yes. i think Reina needs to play. i do like Henderson to start, but i'm not sure of how BRod would play him.

if Suarez doesn't start, then it makes sense to play Carroll in a 4-3-3. i didn't see the first leg, so i don't know what the alignment was.

Good game for Sahin to make his debut. Put him next to Allen to get a feel for the ball and the team. Let Henderson do the running and put Sterling and Borini/Suarez for the runs. Give Andy a few minutes. Feeling generous.

Yeah forgot about Assainti so put Borini or Sterling on. But remember that while they are young this would be three games in 8 days and both went 90 in the last two games. I would expect we want them fit for l'Arse.

Sahin would be fine but we will need someone to nominally hold for him and I guess that would need to be Henderson. Then Shelvey gets the SG slot. Could be an interesting match

I believe Sahin is not able to play as he wasn't with Liverpool in time to be registered for the first leg of this game.

Assaidi is also out as he played for his club in the last round of the qualifying - thus can only enter in the group stages.

This game is definitely going to be an interesting lineup as we need to get into the Group Stages but also must beat Arsenal on Sunday.

    -----------------Reina--------------------------
    Kelly------Coates-------Carragher---Robinson
    -----Henderson-----Allen-----Shelvey---------
    Downing-------Carroll-------Borini

Subs: Gerrard, Suarez, Skrtel, Agger, Morgan, Sterling, Jones, Johnson

All things considered this looks to be a very likely teamsheet

Kinda like that myself, I'm sure Coates learnt something about moving the ball more quickly and Robbo has to work with Carra for cover.
