There were loads of reasons we lost to Southampton, Aspas may have been poor, but he was hardly the only one on that day. Norwich is about his level. If he can't play at home against them, when is he going to get a game. Bottom line is we need him to produce over the next 6 weeks. We don't have that many other options. He's more likely to be effective against Norwich than West Ham on the weekend.

And starting the exact lineup that just lost 3-1 to Hull is a recipe for success?

If only Johnson was playing well I'd agree. He's had 2 shockers in a row. Either he isn't fully fit or he needs a kick in the ass. Let him sit this one out.

    Fine, drop Gerrard then. :)

Which why I said I start him on the bench if there was any doubt about his fitness. Should I edit my post to include: ASSUMING COUTINHO IS FIT, MY LINEUP WOULD BE to make it more clear?

Perhaps if Rodgers had rotated (and substituted) more effectively we wouldn't be in the situation where our options appear to be limited because none of our squad players have been given any minutes for months at a time. Also, the fitness of Coutinho, who apparently has an actual injury and has barely trained for a week, and the fitness of Apsas, who is by all reports healthy and has been back to full training for a couple weeks, is a false equivalence. Apsas may not be able to go a full 90, but if he gives a good 60, provides some support for Suarez and something a little different, then I'd be more than happy with that.

Ah yes, short term memory of football fans. Like the people saying it would be fine if we sold suarez, people saying Allen has never shown anything at the club. Aspas seemed decent in pre-season but struggled to get going in the league for whatever reason (playing out of position?). I'd rather have aspas in over Moses or sterling.

Sure, you say that now but your aliases probably have a different opinion and you might end up having another psycho argument with yourself ;)

I know...let's just give the Canaries a hiding and have done with it.

Give Aspas some time today. I'm sure he's got a point to prove with the 'instant gratification' set of supporters. ;)

I will stick with my thoughts of putting Aspas in.. BUT if he isnt up to fitness... then no. Of coarse you don't put him in. But I do believe we need to stick to a formation that works for us. the 442 has been working. Now we just need to figure out who fits into that spot for Sturridge for now.

We need a good, dominating 6-0 statement.
    Come on you Reds!!!

Aspas hasn't played with Suarez since preseason, has he? That may be a positive--his early-season difficulties were in a different situation.

I hope that isn't a cue for a couple of rookies to play out of their skins and make names for themselves.

Interesting that Rodgers has challenged the likes of Apas and Alberto to contribute goals ...

Sterling keeps his position with Agger and Allen back recalled.

Starting 11 is Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Agger, Skrtel, Allen, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho, Suarez

Looks like Lucas and Moses are taking the blame and Aspas ain't good enough to play Norwich at home

I guess Cissokho will be on the Sahin train in January

And why do we have two center halves on the bench but no fullbacks?

Good question. But given the way Rodgers uses substitutes, I can't think it matters one way or the other.

I'll miss at least the first half, as I'm off to class (and I'm teaching, so I can't surreptitiously stream). YNWA.

    Henderson should of shot quicker.

This season we must be a neutrals wet dream as there seems to be a shot for one team or a another every 2 minutes o_O
