Links to Sturridge and someone called Jeffren popping up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/
Downing to Middlesbrough on BBC. Possible loan but from what I understand the loan period ends Thursday and he's suppose to play that day for us so who knows
I'll take El Nino back on a free. He can be paid a third of his current wage arrangement with the plastics.
Lucas has said we should sign Leandro Damiao. I wonder if this means he has spoken to the player about this move. They obviously know each other from the Brazil national team. Lucas clearly still pays a lot of attention to football in Porto Alegre, where he used to play and where Leandro Damiao currently plays.
We're being linked with Kevin Grosskreutz in the German media. Why are we always linked with the wrong players?
I like and rate him but he's not the player we need or should bring in before others. He would be a great Kuyt prototype though.
You think Schurrle would go for more than 20? I think its best that we buy immediate and injectable quality, fewer signings, but more guaranteed quality Like getting Suarez, there was serious promise in his ability, with speed of thought and play that wasn't based on simple tricks, but being an all-around amazing footballer. I think Schurrle has that, and brings other qualities to the table.
Well Chelsea bid 20-25 for him and Leverkusen turned it down and he's having a pretty good season so nothing below that would do. Even so I don't think he'd leave for another year or two anyways. We'll just have to look elsewhere but luckily there are other options. If we make a bid we would hav ea better shot at Patrick Herrmann for example for under 15m.
There's this player named Hulk who I hear is decent. Hulk, Falcao, and Cavani would be a good window.
Hulk seems, to me, over-rated. Falcao was the deal during their rime at Porto. Cavani now ... any case all three are out of our realm. I do expect a surprise, though.
Forget Hulk, Falcao and Cavani. Wait another year and get Jackson Martinez for a quarter of the price.
With rafa at Chelsea, do you think it becomes more easier to acquire Sturridge? (Not his fan at all but if Rodgers wants him who am I to question)
I'd say less. Rafa has been brought in to get Torres scoring again, so they wont be signing Falcao or any main striker replacement this winter so will need Sturridge as back up. Not sure how Rafa will accommodate Hazard, Oscar and Mata all in the same team though. One will have to be dropped or learn how to track back.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Rafa bid for Agger or Skrtel in January. They are his signings after all and he's a fan of both. Not saying he will, just saying it's a possibility with Chelsea's CB situation.
Talk about patchwork obsessive compulsive disorder, instead of a coherent strategy. Pay $50 on a mule 'cause the owner has a mancrush Watch mule fail for 2 years. Fire manager over a whim. Bring in manager that utilized the mule well half a decade ago in hope of profits. If it wasn't for the russian bottomless bank account none of this would be possible and the plastics would be bottom-feeders right now where they belong.
I don't think Rafa is going to have any say in who, if anyone is signed. I've never seen the terms "interim" and "short term" thrown around so much when talking about a manager so there's no way he'll have a say who is brought into the team. Agger's not leaving anyways - he could have left this summer and chose not to. Skrtel seems content but he I don't know when his last contract renewal was. If it happened before he became a regular over Carragher we should probably get that taken care of if we want to keep him. Does anyone think winning a string of matches between now and January will strengthen our position in the transfer market? If we position ourselves as contenders for a top four spot will we be able to attract a top player?
