Perhaps. Right now he plays the role for the 21s that SG is currently playing the senior team. Tough in the tackle, plays between the two center halves, has a fine range of passing from there and can get forward to support the attack occasionally.

U21s beat Chel$ki 1-0 at Aldershot. Jack Dunn with the goal but MOTM Taxiera like a man playing with boys. 2nd MOTM was Scouser Conor Randall who had a great match at Right Fullback and had the assist on a lovely ball that played Dunn through. All the lads played well. They are top of their table with one game to go against Everton.

U-21s lose at Anfield to ManU 1-0. ManU played exactly like Chel$ki did on Sunday all game. They scored a long range goal in the first half and the parked the bus. Kids had chances but couldn't get the final ball. Rossiter was unavailable through injury.

Looks like all teams we play are going to park the bus and dare us the beat it. No use --they know they can't play with us. That said much of our team is eligible still for U18 -- our best U-21s are out on loan or playing for the first team.

Thought we lacked a bit of quality in the final third but the lads will be all the better for the experience.

    2-0

Ibe has missed to easyish chances.

Allen, now off, has probably been the stand out player.

So Aspas, Borini, Kelly, and Dunn. Ibe could've had a hat trick but missed his chances. He had fine assists on the Borini and Aspas goals. In the end it was our U-21s playing and they did well. Have to mention specifically Branagan, Smith, Coady, Taxiera, and Randall. All in all a fine last note of a post season friendly.

Ibe and Borini look to be very good options to add to our attack for next year.

Ibe has a real shot at making the senior squad next season - and yet he could still get another year on loan given his age. Very impressive.

Let Soton have him for a year as part of the Lallana deal.

Its better he goes to a team he will start for. He was benched by the 4th worst team in the Championship, he is not going to be starting for a top 10 prem team who will have plenty of money to reinvest this summer.
