One reason why I'm for us signing Dempsey -- we'd be the top draw more often than not, as far as who fox decides to put in the regular channel.
I've always advocated for DirecTV as it has had FSC HD, and FSC+ HD since it was available. Plus it has all the Europa League games on the special set of Europa Channels.
I miss DirecTV. I'm stuck with Dish in this shithole town and they only have FSC+ in SD which means it looks like crap while they're still raping me with the $15/month. On another note, I miss Setanta Sports USA, at least they had a whole variety of soccer instead of just being a glorified alternate channel.
So, in case everyone wasn't aware, al jazeera bought the US rights to la liga, serie a, and ligue 1. Their channel is called bein sports 1, and they are launching tonight on directv. They are the only company that has agreed to carry the channel, so far. They even managed to pry ray hudson from goltv.
Showing up for me in HD on 620. Goltv moved to 627. Yeah, big blow for goltv. I think they still have argentine league and bundeshliga.
I hate online streams as much as the next guy, but when it's your only means of watching a game live what can ya do? Me thinks they just need to eventually broadcast every game (if they don't already) and if they don't want to show it on a major channel in the UK, then make it part of a PPV package like they do in the USA (NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra Innings, MLS Direct Kick). Then offer said package in the USA for the same price as MLS Direct Kick.
