Look it up...??? My memory is not that bad, I was there. Next season we took it to the European Cup semis, first time in.
Thanks for those rowdy Liverpool fans on the narrow boat appropriately named "Code Red" for celebrating Henderson's goal with a rendition of "Streets of Anfield Road" right in the middle of Oxford Canal! I forgive you, seriously because the Guinness started tasting as smooth as get out. Blow me down a gale-- if the team don't know the meaning of defeat any longer!
Spurs high press in the second half was pretty pathetic. They were unable to actually win the ball and left themselves wide open for a counter.
Win out. Win title. End of story. But if Man City and Chelsea want to lose some more matches besides ours, by all means go for it. My heart won't mind it.
Regardless of what happens now, it's been a brilliant season. Also, the sooner any team can help get rid of Sherwood, the better. What a clown of a manager.
Something special is happening at Anfield. The atmosphere, and the way the players were lifted by the fans reminded me of our 2005 Champions League run. Playing in front of the Kop is going to be a huge advantage when we face City and Chelsea in the same way it was against Juventus and Chelsea back then. Unbelievable performance today. Just a joy to watch from the start because the result was never in doubt. You can't ignore us anymore. All you have to do is look at the league table. I believe.
We are Liverpool tra la la la la! Ok MOTM was indeed Raheem Sterling. Absolutely phenomenal. On the ball, off the ball, passing, tackling, holding the ball up. Just brilliant And I have to say everyone else was great. No need to pick it apart today. We never left them comfortable in possession and were desperate to get the ball and hold it. We went forward with intent and looked unstoppable. Top of the table in April.
Now that was commitment from all 11 players. MOM was the youngest player on the pitch. He and Phil have that playing in the hole (Save it) down to a pat. Almost the same movements. Top of the league let's see if we can hold on to it all the way in. Just thinking...I do that now and again. Of the top 3 clubs 2 are the richest in the league. One owned by a consortium of oil rich Arab playboys and one by a Russian billionaire oligarch who all have spent hundreds of million dollars on forming cup winning teams hiring and then sacking a dozen or so managers between them. The Chavs need another player, they just wire the Eclipse anchored somewhere in the Med or in Venice harbour for cash and voila. The "Eclipse" all $720,ooo,ooo. worth. Liverpool on the other hand are still recovering from being pillaged and ransacked by a couple of Texas twats. Log way to go yet and we have to play both of these clubs. Gonna be a hell of a ride.
Now for a rousing chorus of "I am H.A.P.P.Y" Probably because his prematch trash talk about Liverpool succumbing to the pressure (of Spurs) didn't work.
OK, I'm back to post. Afflicted with the Red Bird neurosis; the side do better when I'm not watching, walked the dogs for the first half, then finally tuned in at 70' when my nerves could handle it. Gotta lay off the coffee on match mornings... We look so good, don't we? Just a joy to watch even if I have to peer out from behind the couch. This is truly fun again.
Funny, I was thinking of you when I wrote that, thinking "he knows damn well what happened, was probably in the Kop for it..."
Hello, is that San Diego soccer club? I hear that you're planning a team for the MLS and looking for a manager.....
Couple more items from that 63/64 season. Besides the YNWA: That was the year we wore all red for the first time. Against Anderlecht. Then, the last game of the season "Was a carnival" as the team took Arsenal to the cleaners to the tune of 5-0. Great write ups in the media about how much fun it was to be at Anfield.
Yes, nervy, and pressure is getting to Liverpool ... not. Just seen the highlights and this could have been an absolute massacre. As complete a performance as you could ever get at this level. Make no mistake, the first goal was assured once Johnson let rip-- Kaboul misses it and Sturridge buries it.
Seeing them play like this I don't even want the season to end. Watching this kind of football 52 weekends a year is good enough for me. Who cares about the formalities of "titles". Fcukin' hell. So happy for the team!
dominating - regardless of whether Spurs were shit or not. never felt threatened all game except for the erikson shot that was saved. wow!
Outstanding game... I can't add much more than what's been said already. It's going to be a fun run in that's for sure!
Thank you, Brendan, for bringing a brand of football to US tv that hasn't been seen since beIN sports took the La Liga rights and robbed us of Barcelona. I could watch this team play all the time. The players have such a great understanding. We've never had a better opportunity to take the league. One game at a time. It's going to get harder and harder the closer we get to the finish line.
City with less games played ... nevertheless, things are looking pretty good! Congrats on another impressive win
