By the way, Never Walk Alone and Scholesy have to go to every match now :)

I love watching games like this where I would find it tough to criticize anyone.

oddly enough - we had a multitude of chances against zenit too, and WBA, and AV etc etc. - and didn't put them away.

7th home win of the season; one more than we had all of last season.

Great to login and see that result.
Goals looked nice on the highlights I saw.
One thing that still worries me is chance conversion: With 35 shots and 20 shots on goal, we should have had 7 or 8 from open play, not 3. Chance conversion MUST improve. Could just me being picky.

I know it's been one match, but Coutinho took up some very Maxi-esque runs and positions in the box. Oh how we've missed those.

Immensely. I can't really wait to see Countinho, Sturridge and Suarez start and play an entire season together.

That's not possible. This team is on a downward spiral to DOOM! Fire the manager! Imprison the owners! Take the players out back and shoot them!

Wait, we won? By how many goals? I'll be damned.

This team is certainly making us all look bipolar, isn't it?

How soon we forget how bad we are.
    Should have scored more goals.

We see the team sitting seventh, three points behind Everton (with them having a game in hand.)
If not for that horse shit offside decision, we'd be level.

There's a lot of season left. A small glimmer of hope to finish fourth remains. (Ok, very small.)

Shame about Borini. In this season even in victories there are losses.

What's with us purchasing Italian glass, over and over again? We ordered steel, dammit.

This is unfortunately the case, but hopefully that starts to fade. It's about time we start seeing more good than bad performances instead of the frustrating, inconsistent 50/50 trend we've had all year.

someone said they wanted something to complain about - ok - watching the replay right now on FS+ = damn if Downing doesn't shy out of any if not all tackles. If there is a 50-50 and he is involved you can bank on the other player to get it.

Replace Downing with a competent wide player and we've got a team.

Downing is competent and is doing a good job at providing width and an outlet. We need a long term upgrade, sure, but he is effectively providing space for others to work. On this form, I'd carry him for another season and put my money elsewhere.

He is shit at tackles though.

Is that 5 in 7 for him now? Everytime he has played I'm amazed at how well he fits. His presence makes everyone's job easier.

Can't believe Chelsea froze him out. The way he plays for us it seems he would have been great for them through the middle with Mata et al playing behind. Oh well their loss.

I'll admit I wasn't sure about him when he came in, but damn, we got a bargain.

Also, kudos to SG for letting him score the 5th. He deserved a goal, but would have been SG's 200th league goal I believe.

He had a good ball through to Suarez for his goal, but I largely agree. I wouldn't mind Downing if he was one more run down the pecking order.

I was cautious at first as well. Maybe 'gun shy; is a better word.
Whats. nice after seeing part of the replay, is they, Suraez and he, still have room to improve. Couple of times Suarez laid the ball off to him then moved to an open space for the return. One that looked like a certain goal but Sturridge had his head down.
