Very true. I also think signing Downing to replace Kuyt has made wide play a preferred weapon that we are not quite yet used to, since we haven't seen it in the team in about a decade. :D

    Unbelievable attack on Carroll! YNWA?

First Suarez - on his own. No appeal.

Now a former player - who had problems of his own - comes out and publicly attacks Carroll? Attacks his desire, etc. That is outrageous. Especially a person who had problems himself. Is this to get some publicity?

YNWA? right........ Who needs the slogan when you're winning? Isn't it acutally when you go through a tough time that you need support? People today are so quick to judge and condemn. Good grief. He's 23. Do you remember what you were like at 23?

Re: Unbelievable attack on Carroll! YNWA?

In what ways is this "attack" (which I'd hardly characterize it as) hard to believe?

Also, by 23, Hamann was a regular for Bayern, and his career was nothing if not a model of professionalism.

Plus, Carroll has had 12 months to adjust at Anfield with more than generous support from supporters and staff. There's nothing "quick" about this judgment.

Yea, I gave up smoking and drinking completely, was working out 6 days a week, moved into my own home, and my wife was pregnant with our first child.

Oh, wait, that's the not the comparison you were looking for?

I can't link this, but FSC had Pool v. Spurs from the '95 FA Cup.

    DavidJames
    JohnScales NeilRuddock PhilBabb
    RobJones JamieRedknapp JohnBarnes MarkWalters
    SteveMcManaman
    IanRush RobbieFowler

(although, this isn't how the line-up lasted for 90min, this was how we nominally lined up in that era. Mark Wright or Stig Inge Bjornbye would replace Walters in a lot of the games I've seen)

Some really good pass and move football from this group. It's a shame that the back 3 was absolute shit. :D

Btw, Jones, Redknapp, Barnes, Walters, McManaman, Rush, and Fowler would be starters in our current team.

Didn't know Manchester had such people until I realised that this was City fan. Man U ones come from Surrey and other such exotic places.

I miss Dirk. I mean, I know he's still at the club and has been playing, but I miss having Dirk in EVERY match, doing his thing. His constant movement, his 50 yard runs to close down a goalkeeper, while simultaneously closing down the entire back 4 of the opposition. I miss thinking that he had some kind of incriminating photos of Rafa, blackmailing him to play every match. I miss Dirk and his ability to make every big European club cry. I miss his late goals, and his match-winning goals. Has he ever scored a 'not-important' goal?

As you said, give him a run of games and leave him there. Don't talk to him Kenny, just let the lad play and show the kind of heart that Downing, Adam and Carroll miss.

    Yes, he does.

He has more heart than anyone on the team.
