Wicked Villa shot saved by Jehle, Busquets returns ball into area where Capdevila heads wide left from six yards with the goal gaping. Argh!

    Liechtenstein 0-4 Spain
    0-1 : Torres 18'
    0-2 : Villa 26'
    0-3 : Torres 54'
    0-4 : Silva 62'

In injury time Villa stuck the crossbar from six yards with a defender hanging on him and the keeper out of position (set up nicely by Silva).

    On to Buenos Aires... :(

I must have WC hangover or something because I just can't get into the National Team yet. Maybe next year I'll feel different. For now though I feel that we should still be on vacation.

It took me awhile before I could get into Cologne or Barcelona. Didn't follow any of their preseason, and wouldn't you know right when I get all stoked up for La Liga the damn FIFA break comes along one week later. But I'm starting to get in gear now. Looking forward to see how Spain does in front of the fanatical Argentine support. A shame European national teams rarely tour South America anymore.

    I am with you there.
Not really looking forward for the Argentina game, I am worried about our players burning out.

So great to see Torres get on the scoresheet and great to do so in the 1st match of qualifying. So will Villa make the new record against Argentina or in the next qualifier? Anyone taking bets? :p

Oh BTW I really admire Villa. He always seems to score Torres' goals as if they were his own and always talks him up and creates several chances for him. Great striker and great teammate I'd say. Hoping they both tear it up in qualifying.

It was awesome seeing Torres grab a couple goals. I really like him and have been hoping he'd get back into form soon.
