If it actually had an ounce of comical value, I'd be all for it. But it feels so forced. Did anyone honestly come close to chuckling when they read the thread title? No? Then what's the point? There have maybe been two funny thread titles in the past calendar year. One was the OTT thread and the other was Paparazzi. You know what's memorable? LFC on TV 2013-2014. Or (if we must have preludes): Newterp's LFC on TV 2013-2014. Anything else is just unnecessary noise.
It wasn't meant to be funny - I'm just overjoyed those clowns are no longer showing EPL games. They were the worst. My most sincere apologies that the thread title wasn't up to your standards. But since we're throwing out suggestions, here's an for you idea - stop cluttering up the TV thread with complaints about something as trivial as the thread title. Some people use this thread to, ya know, find TV information.
So do I. Use it every week. Which is why it doesn't need a silly title. Keep it simple. I'll drop it now.
Well that sucks...! You must be a school teacher, dumbing it down to the lowest common denominator.......... If you took the one slow guy to one side and explained it too him, I'm sure he'd get it in the end. If not, I'm pretty sure he'd recognize the symbols you used it the title. TV for instance, that was a clue...
Anyway Saturday, August 17, 2013 Fixture: Liverpool v. Stoke Location: Anfield Time: 7:45a E / 6:45a C / 5:45a M / 4:45a P Competition: EPL (Game 1) TV: NBC Sports Net
I agree about thread title. Let's not put humor before sensibility. "Alert: LFCTV: Adios, Barton!" I'm not sure Dish has the overflow. However, you can DL "NBC Sports Live Extra" App and watch all the games live streamed. Plus, Dish should have 3 games on Sat, 2 on Sunday, and 1 on Monday. That's not bad. Only 4 missing.
You old farts were so disorganized before I took over as mod, we had TV thread (credit to terp*), no League Game thread, no FA Cup Thread, no European thread, no Other Teams thread, and no Random Comments thread, and no Funny thread. And, yes, I am a teacher...
Liverpool tv schedule all season via Locatetv.com - Good site for US-based fans to bookmark as it will update throughout the season. Login with Facebook or create an account then add Liverpool to your picks and it will find relevant programming (has tv, movies etc). Very handy site!
I don't mind Dish's coverage at this point: that's 5-6 live games, which is not bad. Do you think Dish will eventually come around and add those overflow channels? That's what tends to happens with most cable/satellite carriers in time, so for the time being I am not too worried.
My guess is that they won't add full-time overflow channels, but on prominent weeks, they will shift games to other affiliates/cable stations under their ownership. NBC Sports Extra Live works with your dish password on iOS, and streams nicer than anything I've seen in a while.
Just scrolled through all the games I get for FREE ( ) with the overflow channels on DirecTV. The quality is top notch. Thank you, NBC. No more grainy streams for me.
No complaints. I don't know how anyone can be a soccer fan and not have DirecTV (besides ability/cost). NBC EPL, Fox Soccer, Fox Deportes, ESPN Deportes, Gol TV, Bein, Bein Esp., UEFA channels...
Have a house surrounded by trees with no view of the satellite. Verizon gives me a great picture and Internet.
Well, like you said, it's the price point. DirecTV is ridiculously expensive for cable. Right now, the only channels I need are NBC Sports and BEIN. I get both. I'll have FoxSports1 also. Everything else is just too much. I barely get the TV from the wife and kids as is.
If I ever move out of my parents' house (....), I will probably go with DirecTV. In addition to what you mention, DTV also has TVChile (which Dish doesn't) and on it I watch 2 Chilean footy games each weekend.
