suggestion that is easy - manually record from 7:30a - 10am - and see if it shows up (or check live), and if not the fall back is the night showing on BeIN. I want to keep this game in my archives.
Great NBC promo for its upcoming Premier League coverage: (Props to newterp, who posted this elsewhere).
August 7 - @ Vallerenga - 1pm - DELAYED @ 5pm E - BeIN TV August 10 - @ Celtic - 12pm - LIVE - NESN And that ends a choppy preseason schedule - but can we complain - every game ended up live or delayed on TV.
Going with the thread name I noticed the Chav's game had Wynalda as one of the ....must have been about 6 comms...JPDLC, The Marda guy, Guss Johnson? Wynalda and others. I can handle Wynalda as an analyst, behind a desk but as a comm he just d r o n e s on until you nod off, then wakened by Guss screaming....Over the bar, 3 points.. By contrast the last Liverpool match had one comm, who kept on top of everything without saying: "Well how would you handle that Eric?" Actually meaning: "I'm tired of talking, you take it for a while."
I was happy that they only had one guy for the testimonial. First time in a long time. Sounded wonderful. I missed it so much.
No more F'ing around: Saturday, August 17, 2013 Fixture: Liverpool v. Stoke Location: Anfield Time: 7:45a E / 6:45a C / 5:45a M / 4:45a P Competition: EPL (Game 1) TV: NBC Sports Net
There is in-studio pre-match coverage starting at 7. Around 7:25 they'll switch to coverage at Anfield. So I've read.
did anyone else catch the two-hour block of programming on the NBC network channel yesterday afternoon? the first hour was a guide on every team, helping us to decide which team to support. the other was a magazine covering the ten biggest stories going into the season. the team-picking show was laughable for a longtime league follower, but it was nice to see NBC throw some good promotional content on the network. it seems they are really catering to the viewer and the production quality is top drawer. both are nice to see after years of the opposite on FSC: low-production, low-quality, high cost (FSC+, foxsoccertogo), and those jackasses they had as analysts and commentators.
I've just started holding my breath until the first match is over...or I turn blue and die. Just to see what they give us in presentation. I heard that this guy after being sacked by Tot'num got a job with NBCS as a comm. Sometimes it's better the devil you know...... I've watched their America's cup show with the old guard of Gary Jobson and Peter Isler. Two guys who have both sailed AC and know the game. NBC in their wisdom had two motor mouthed none stop yappers in the mix blathering continuously, then doing what they do with the leading question. "How does the Swedish boat catch up after being so far behind, Gary?" The short answer is: They can't they're done and dead in the water! But not for them. it takes 5 minutes for them to go through a series of options to reach that conclusion. Same with the F1 racing, more ads, more talk, less action. So, I'm starting to feel the effects from lack of oxygen but I think I can hold out until Sat am. though.
good points, however, they did take over the MLS from fox last year and i think they've done a very good job with it. so, they do have some experience taking over a poorly-presented football product from fox. still, we'll cross our fingers. the fact that the games will be a lot more accessible than with FSC, and you can watch every game online or on a portable device for free will help get over the initial bumps in the coverage and presentation.
They still have to catch up to us, where we've been able to watch every EPL game on tv or online for the last 4-5 seasons, through viewers choice on their tv. I thought the US was the leader in innovation?
if by innovation you mean advancements in ways to get more money out of people, then, yes, we most certainly are.
It's so funny to watch the ads for getting Fox Soccer Plus... "Are you hardcore enough? Get Fox Soccer Plus! Why?.......Just do it!"
Can we get rid of the "Adios Barton and Wynalda" prelude? It's not funny and it makes finding the "LFC on TV" thread (one of the more important threads) difficult, which can be risky when you're viewing the forums from the office. The easier to find, the quicker. The quicker, the less chance of getting caught.
Btw, does anybody know if Dish will have those overflow channels for the not-so-attractive matches? (In other words, for matches that won't be on NBCS, mun2, Telemundo, etc.)
