Anyone know who this Michael Edwards is? The guy the media are claiming is the statistical research guy?
I really like John Barnes. Former Liverpool winger John Barnes on BBC Radio 5 live: "I always say that when you have a philosophy on football, you need the players who can instil that. Are they the type of players who can play the way Rodgers wants them to? They will have to have some adjustment. "We have to give the situation time to develop. You have to come to a point where you can't keep changing managers year in, year out. It's been 20 years since we have won league. "We've been chopping and changing. We need to do what is in the best interests of the club, even if that means we don't qualify for the Champions League in the next three years."
I didn't realize that it was Steve Clarke who recommended Rodgers to Mourinho. I wonder if that made a difference in his selection or in his own choice to accept the job? Does anyone know what his style is with training? Is he a hands on kind of guy?
The more you read about him, the more you listen to him, the more you realise he could be something really special. I retract my reservations, I think he'll surprise a lot of people. Onwards and upwards.
Former Watford chairman Graham Simpson, who gave Rodgers his first managerial job in football, told BBC Radio 5 live: "He brought with him a heavy file which he went through explaining why and how the game should be played. He was impressive, he was thoughtful, he was very sincere and he was one of those people who combined technical knowledge with spending his time learning his trade. "You don't meet too many young managers like that. When he's in the dressing room, people will listen to him but he's not a ranter or raver." Someone pointed it out on twitter, Brendan Rodgers might have the best presentation/powerpoint skills to sway the opinions of NESV. He has talked his way into the club and I do hope that he can back it up with great football!
I didn't expect to touch a nerve with such a simple post. Sorry, next time you curse our owners and make a statement condemning every "corporate mofo out there" I will respect this very valid and reasonable opinion. I could have gone about it in a better way though. I was being a dick. My apologies.

Well Parker wanted to stay in London and is not young. We went after Young, Jones and cahill and they all chose other clubs. Either for glory or money it matters not. Dalglish wanted all three and lost out.
And while Scott Parker would've been useful, we had no idea that: Lucas was going to be so important He was going to tear a knee ligament
