Well . . . all I will say is take this with whatever sized grain of salt you would like: http://youknowmyidea.blogspot.com/2012/05/breaking-rafa-benitez-willing-to-work.html
You obviously forget the exploits of Atletico in 96, or Depor who went 1st, 2nd 2nd in the early 00's.
It's hard to argue with Rafa's success the first time around, at least until that last dismal season (and, yes, that was with H&G weighing him down, but H&G didn't force him to spend £20 million on an injured Aquilani). On the other hand, successful second acts, though not unheard of, are rare. I'd be nervous about bribing him back.
With the right support, Rafa will be fine. I'd consider Avb, but given the choice of Martinez it seems miss guided not to take Rafa due to political reasons, which are the only reasons you would take hi.
Actually it is not clear that Aquilani was the first choice --- he was what he could get with the money available. But if you want to put a few mistakes up against my list of hits fine. Again I re- iterate Pep, Capello, Klopp and hell Swansea's manager won't come. So now they have Martinez, Rafa, and the some losers. Who do you pick??
Just points out that they don't want him, they don't want Kenny, they want somebody subservient to them. They who know jack shit about football. I am convinced it will end up with some second tier no account. I am seriously disappointed in this lot. The process could not have been more completely cocked up.
Hello everyone. Have written a blog on the current situation at Liverpool. 'Liverpool Need To Do An Arsenal'. Views welcome http://adamsummerton.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/liverpool-need-to-do-an-arsenal/
I also have done a blog. http://bradsfootballshirtcollection.blogspot.co.uk/ It has nothing to do with the Liverpool job though I cannot see Benitez going back really. He has had his time already. I'd go for AVB.
Well that's certainly a brilliant piece of mastering the obvious. Build a new big stadium and stick with one manager for twenty years and you too can become a perennial also ran in third or fourth place. Welcome, come back when you are not self promoting
I cannot help but wonder what other Prem clubs are thinking at the moment, what with everything that has been made public. It must involve maniacal laughter, whatever it is.
They're hoping the LFC owners come after some of their players/managers so they can bite LFC's hands off like Villa, Newcastle, Sunderland did... What Whelan should have done was hype up Martinez and kiss up to LFC and they could have gotten great compensation for Martinez! But instead he just said LFC were running around with their heads cut off!
They also thought we'd made an astute appointment in Hodgson. Comes with the territorry. Remember this is 24 hours rolling news, twitter, tw@tter, blogs, discussion forumns et. Liverpool is box-office draw for all we have struggled in the league; heck talkShite radio has been discussing nothing but Liverpool.
It continues to be reported that David Dein is the "genius" behind firing every one and may be in on the interviews. Smart man but Arsenal til he dies. I don't think these FSG people understand the tribalism of the EPL. Having an Arsenal guy unceremoniously fire a legend just leaves a bad taste for me.
