You're right, the game reminds me of Vietnam in 2007.

Decent enough win, 1 point from the next two games should be easy meat.

Would be nice to beat the Saudis in the final game though to make it sweeter :D

Don't worry, Saudi game will be about two hours before Azerbaijan.

We'll have enough time to watch both.

IFA asked the AFC to change the time of the game between Iraq and KSA so people can attend it. Last time the reply was negative, not expecting much this time either.

First Half was an open match, with some advantages for the Saudis. They had two very dangerous chances, while we had a goal cleared off the line.

Second Half was dominated by Iraq, they took the lead with a beatiful goal and doubled it with another beauty. Third goal was penalty in injury time.

To the finals, without a single goal conceded. :D However we still have to improve if we want to reach the WC in '11. Asian teams like Japan, Korea, Australia or Iran (U16 Champs, beat Holland at the WC) will be tough.

Sounds like a good win, I just got up there because I stayed up to see Manny v Cotto (what a fight!)

Anyways, will check the goals later and catch what I can of the national team.

    Edit here are the goals:

    Number 1 - http://www.football-iraq2.org/2009/AFC-Erbil-2009/Round5/Iraq_1-0_KSA.wmv

    Number 2 - http://www.football-iraq2.org/2009/AFC-Erbil-2009/Round5/Iraq_2-0_KSA.wmv

    Number 3 - http://www.football-iraq2.org/2009/AFC-Erbil-2009/Round5/Iraq_3-0_KSA.wmv

Was Amjad Waleed emulating Tim Cahill's celebration there? LOL

Good win though, no goals conceded in qualifying. I can see this team going far!
