don't think this is on Gazidis, and Arsenal is aware of this serious issue and addressing it. Tom Fox was brought in about 18 months ago to address the commercial revenues, but this recent Deloitte data doesn't give him enough Fox enough time to make a big impact, IMO. At the wolves game, I was in the upper tier of the Clock End and at halftime I got a burger and I looked out the window and there seems to be some construction. At the Emirates Cup this summer there wasn't anything. Asked one person and he said he didn't know what it was. Maybe it is part of the development plan?
I suppose that would be Queensland Rd. When I was there in 08 it was just a bunch of automobile repair shops, etc. I think it's the next/last part of the master RE development plan... to turn this into some "nicer" mixed use property. Not really something I'm way up on, so I stand ready to be corrected if I'm wrong.

Re: Arsenal loss That's all relative. Clearly the City deal is artificially inflated by the owners, so that can't be the true benchmark. It was also surely tough for Arsenal to lose more time exploring financial options when they had what was at the time a very solid offer staring them in the face. Thus, even if they could've done better would it have been worth the extra time, risk and effort? I also think there is a bona fide tertiary benefit from having a sponsor from a growing market/demographic. Apart from the amount the club is directly reaping from this contract I've no complaints about them as a sponsor. Again, the bigger issue is that even with all the financial benefits Arsenal have created for themselves, at least two clubs are out there in a stronger position because they get to play around with someone else's money. None of this would be an issue is there was something close to financial fair play.

Re: Arsenal loss Same here, and as Emirates sponsors more and more teams, the Arsenal identity dilutes substantially. I hate shirt naming deals, but O2 was the best sponsor from a shirt POV.
JVC must be the iconic Arsenal shirt sponsor. That said, as long as we get good compensation for sponsorship, IMO it's little issue how many clubs Emirates sponsors. They have to pay us per the sponsorship contract, and from their angle sponsorship gets their name across better, so the more channels carrying their name the better for them.
