Does not matter if he is called up as a Full-Back to rot in the bench. I meant as a starter or atleast a 30 minute sub at CDM position. He has a lot of composure something De Jong surely lacks & I dont even want to go about De Jong's technical ability. De Jong was a great CDM a few years back. He really was. But his time is up. If I was Bert I would thank him for his services & try out Claisie & Anita in addition to Strootman. I dont know what he will do with Schaars(LB or CDM) but he is good too. Mark is indispensable due to his leadership qualities & his all-round game is much better than De Jong. Claisie/Anita are short too & they can replace De Jong. My 2 cents. However we all know Bert wont tinker with the line up & take such huge risks before the Euros so I am hoping to see a Huge Amount of Fresh Talent introduced after the Euros.
Vertongen is no doubt the best CD in the world at the moment and one of the best DM. His forays from deep in our half are a joy to behold. Pity we are going to lose him.
The successive wins against the top clubs make me happy, it's been a while. Can't wait for Wednesday.
Real Madrid are lining up a 18m bid on Eriksen according to this Danish article. http://sporten.tv2.dk/fodbold/article.php/id-50034500:nyt-rygte-real-vil-have-eriksen.html Apparently all of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona are also interested in his signature this summer. Not really happy with the 18m bid, but it's better than the rumoured 23m that United wanted to pay for Eriksen and Fischer combined.
He's just one of those young players who is going to have to deal with constant transfer rumors. That's what happens when you ball as hard as him. He talks a big game about his intentions to stay in interviews and this will be a true test of his character. I'm used to see our players lying through their teeth but still nothing bothers me more than dishonesty. Suarez may have been a scumbag on the pitch but he was always honest in interviews. He said what he did and did what he said.
Can anybody find a vid of that ruthless tackle on Ola John by Vertonghen when he stripped him of the ball and then spun away from somebody else? I think it was first half.
We've heard the Eriksen rumors before. The good news is, the kid has a good head on his shoulders and has always said he wants to stay here until he's fully developed as a player. Also, since we're financially secure and will have Champions League money coming in next year, we are under no pressure to sell him right now.
-Add to that the fact that Madrid can't exactly offer him a place in the starting lineup, with Ozil being a superior Eriksen. He's not leaving to be a benchwarmer.
on a side note, those are some bright green colors to go on the new away blue kits. It will be helpful when jogging at night as no cars will miss seeing you.
I prefer the powder blue kits that they had this season. I guess they need to change things every year to boost replica sales but how many fans buy the away kits?
