Who cares what Rooney expects? United now have a superior striker and a superior 10 at the club. Rooney's lost an awful lot of leverage this summer.
Angelo Henriquez, Macheda, Berbatov, Welbeck, Rooney, Chicharito, RVP, Will Keane...who else am I missing? Surely Macheda and Berbatov are out the door. Henriquez on loan back to Chile.
Alright guys, so are we going to play the 'we score 10 more than you do' game? I can already see it: De Gea Valencia - Rio - Carrick - Giggs Cleverley - Kagawa - Rooney Nani - RvP - Welbeck We'd better ********ing do this. I don't want to see Welbeck benched for RvP.
Wonder if that is it for the summer or is the Moura fee still available and whether it will be spent?
He would have been kicked out if we had options then. We have RvP (probably), Welbeck and Kagawa now. Expect Wayne to play left wing nominally.
He cared because Rooney kicked up a stink at the worst possible time like a snake because he knew the club was in a rough position personnel-wise and couldn't immediately do anything about it. Now the club is no longer in that position. Only dementia on the part of Ferguson can cause him to give in to Rooney's demands now.
It's unfortunate that we couldn't have landed a striker in a different mold, like Drogba, on a free. #daydreaming
People should never forget that Fergie never forgets and holds his grudges for a pretty long time. Rooney will have to start earning his 220K a week. Cevno, We will try for Isco
---------------RVP--------- --------Rooney--------------Nani --Cleverley/Scholes---Kagawa --------------Carrick--------
I believe the guardian is reporting it as 15 mil, with another 7-9 mil in add-ons. If so, that is great business. No matter who we rest, we are going to have 2-3 devastating attackers on the pitch at all times.
Hunch? If we go in for him actually we have a pretty good chance of getting him, i think. Portuguese press saying we are keen on Witsel.
Fact of the matter is, there are some people who wanted an upgrade in quality. Someone for Wayne Rooney to combine with. It may not be the position most expect, but it is definitely a significant signing.
Based on our recent signings, we either have been buying players with a year on their contract (Young, Kagawa, RvP) or those with fixed fees in their contract (DDG, Jones). Essentially if a contractual situation exists and a lower fee can be expected, we are interested.
The reigning (and a very deserving) player of the year is always a good signing. Not that people observed but that would be 2 new players who featured in the Ballon d'or shortlist.
Nah, I've seen that interview where Fergie talked wistfully about having nearly signed RVP. I think this is one where he wanted to put that right, given thatthe player had finally fulfilled his full talent. And with Fergie it's often a case of "if a top player is available then get him, and worry about how to use him later".
congrats on getting a badass striker fellas... guy has a lethal left foot, makes very intelligent runs, and can play the smart passes getting other's involved. RIP Berbatov.
