Looks like Wigan finally signed Al-Habsi on a 4 year contract, £4m going Bolton's way.

Nice. The loan fee was 1m, so technically Bolton received 5m for him. :D

Weird I just read the other day on the Bolton boards that Coyle wasn't interested in SWP, at least enough to press for a deal.

I think we'll end up getting Rodrigo, and hopefully Sturridge on loan again.

If it does happen, I expect to see LCY as an inverted winger, although I'm not sure how well he would do on the left flank permanently. LB is still sort of an unknown for Bolton.

What a complete waste of money Marcos Alonso turned out to be. When is he going to jail for the Spanish equivalent of vehicular homicide? SOT - have the Bolton boards said anything on this?

Well, you know SoT that I'm one of the "more get LCY out of bolton" people out here especially in fear of what the roster will look like come fall :)

That said, I think LCY could play inverted winger well... but not for Bolton and their style of play. For Bolton, its better to have LCY more comfortable with the two options of drifting wider and crossing or breaking ahead to dig out a longer pass to cross it into KD and whoever they will get to replace sturridge/elmo.

He's actually with the side training and going through preseason and everything. LCY is with them also, so he may in fact be going on the USA tour.

I think nothing is certain until the trial and sentencing are over. For now he's a 'free man' and if I were OC I would get as much mileage out of him as possible. Funny that Real Madrid included a buyback clause into the transfer; I'm sure OC would like to exercise a reverse-buyback clause if it were possible.

haha I don't really think the squad can get any worse than it was when he first arrived. He was the spark of creativity for that team and I think he can do the same even if he were to stay at a much worse team.

I'm not sure that LCY can play the inverted winger well but I do agree that he should play on the right for Bolton. He's a very good crosser with his right and it would be a waste for him to play on the left for any team.

For arsenal he could play inverted. It's not like arsenal shoots/ scores anyway but he could be damaging with his technical skill with the ability to shoot with his dominant foot after an incut

Yea I think he's very good at cutting in but I don't see him shooting very well. Ideally you want to play like Robben but for a player like LCY, he's not a good fit in that kind of system.

He wouldn't shoot much worse than arsenal already does. I do think he gets stuck on the right going too deep since what shot power he has is shrunken more with his left foot so he tries to get real close

Yeah, but Arse don't have anyone that can cross the ball well either in their senior side. In this hypothetical, it's better for LCY to play on the right and place Walcott (who can't hit a cross but can finish) on the left as the inverted.

I hate hate hate saying this, but LCY, PJY and KSY all would fit well into Arsene's system. But as discussed countless times earlier, there are so many issues associated w/ playing for Arsenal and Wenger. And Arsene doesn't fancy our players anyway...

The addition of KSY would make Arsenal's defending even weaker than it already is. The idea is laughable, really.

I'm not saying he should go to arsenal to play on the left. Just that I think there could be a scenario where he could play inverted at a high level even if he probably couldn't at Bolton

Chung-Yong Lee says that he is enjoying his first taste of America.

Believe it or not, the South Korean superstar has never previously visited the United States despite clocking-up tens of thousands of air miles representing his country all over the globe.

And although he admits that the temperature and climate is demanding on the body, he is relishing his first pre-season tour with Bolton.

"I have played football in too many countries to name, but I've never been to America" explained the 22-year-old shortly after the squad arrived in Tampa following a two hour coach journey from Orlando.

"I'm enjoying it because it is the first time that I've been together with the players since the first day of pre-season training.

"Two years ago I only joined three days before the first Premier League game and last summer I had two weeks extra because of the World Cup.

"Training has been hard but I'm happy to be here with everyone. Last week I felt like I was at 50 percent fitness, but now I'm at 60 percent. I'm taking it step-by-step."

Although there was no international tournament to contend with this summer, Chung -Yong's break still started two weeks later than the majority of the Bolton Wanderers squad.

In total he had three weeks worth of rest which, he admitted, is still more than he was accustomed to in the close season.

"We had two international games against Serbia and Ghana and a charity match in Korea in June. I play a lot of football," added the winger, who has now earned 40 caps since making his debut in 2008.

"I spent the rest of the summer back in Korea with my friends and family. It was good to go home to speak in my own language and eat some South Korean food.

"It was still longer than I've had before, so I'm not complaining. I don't think there has ever been a time when I haven't played a match for five weeks."

For some reason, I read that as 'worse than aresenal lady does' and not 'worse than aresenal already does'. Coincidence? I think not. :D
