    The new season (2007/08) will start today with the match between Nejmeh and Shabab Al Sahel in Beirut. The other games are scheduled for tomorrow.

    Teams in the first division:
    • Al-Ansar (Champions/Cup Winners)
    • Nejmeh
    • Al-Safa
    • Al-Mabarrah
    • Al-Ahli (Saida)
    • Al-Hikma
    • Al-Ahed
    • Shabab Al-Sahel
    • Tripoli SC
    • Al-Tadamoon (Tyre)
    • Racing Beirut (Promoted)
    • Al-Arshad (Promoted)
    There will be only a limited amount of fans who are allowed to enter the stadium: 1,500 for Al-Ansar - 1,000 for Nejmeh - 750 for Al-Ahed - 500 for Al-Ahly, Al-Hikma, Al-Arshad - 400 for Tripoli - 300 for Racing and 200 for the other teams.

    Al-Ansar and Al-Safa will represent Lebanon at the 2008 AFC Cup.

    National Team played the first World Cup Qualification Match against India in Saida. The returning game will be played next week in Chennai, India.

    wat the ******** is that man , they are putting limits for the number of fans , i dont ********in get it at all , how is the game gonna improve if there are no fans???????? i was reading an article at www.kooora.com about the lebanese league, how the ******** the army can not hold fans , i think its a dumb excuse , to be honest its because of religion , i hav proof , my friend tried out for the national team after 1 month they knew he s christian he got kicked off , its the government that does not want people playin together !!!!!!!

    I have no idea why they call themselves Zamalek, there's no city or district in Beirut called so. Maybe they're fans of Zamalek. :D

    i m just prayin that in the near future the football in lebanon would get better, FCMB do u hav an idea wat are the salaries in the lebanese league????

    No idea about the salaries since none of the clubs publish it. But I'd guess something like 1,000 $.

    i heard its pretty cheap, is vartan ghazarian the highest paid ??? also lets say every fan is allowed in the stadiums do u think we would hav at least 10 000 spectators

    we need to promote more teams form the lower league so we can hav at least 18 teams in the topflight, it will be more interesting, the teams that should go up are homenmen homentmen racing jounieh and a few more

    Even more, Nejmeh x Ansar matches can get something like 15-20,000. NT matches even more.

    When Lebanon played Korea in 2004 we had absolutley full house their it was crazy, but now...I went to LebanonxIndia in Saida and there were only 120 peple, 20 out of them were Indians and LebanonxAustralia Olympics had also a damn low attendance.

    Not really, its just people starting to lose the interest. :( Also the games are not advertised.

    LBC showed the Olympic Match, but they were not interested in showing the NT match at all.

    Acutally there's on site in arabic about the second division, its not updated though. I'll look for it and post the link.

    Currently they are second in their Group after winning the first game 2-0 away in Tripoli. They are behind Al Nahda, who won their game 3-1.

    FIFA 2010 World Cup - Qualification (Asian Round 1):

    Lebanon was drawn to play against India, home and away.

    1st Leg - October 8, 2007 in Saida

    Lebanon 4 - 1 India

    2nd Leg - October 30, 2007 in Margao (Goa)

    India 2 - 2 Lebanon

    Lebanon wins 6-3 on aggregate and qualifes for the Third Asian Round. The Draw will be taken on November 25. 2007 in Durban (South Africa). Lebanon will be placed in the third pot.
