I agree that 2011 is hopeful at best. But I do think that NYC is exceptional in that the league would stray from any expansion plan if it meant getting a NYC team. In other words, I don't think we have the same timetable concerns as other cities.

Yes, I know that they are in USL, but however they already have good players ( Montreal will be the next canadian team in Concacaf Champions League ) and if will there be 4 new teams in MLS in 2011, 2 teams have already their players, so I think that isn't impossible this great expansion.

No problem, Nick. Maybe is important if today at All Star Game there will be not news about expansion, so we have more time for our future team.
When you will give me good news about Wilpon and the soccer plan in Queens ?

Wow, half an hour to game time, and I'm more excited to see the halftime interview with Garber than the actual game. haha

Since Montreal looks like it's a lock, what do you think the chances of him saying anything concrete tonight are?

Investors, stadium that was just built and is being used by the Impact, a big USL fan base, MLS saying that they want to expand into Canada again.

    You have links?

There have been a lot of rumors the past two days - one saying NO CANADA and one saying 24 teams by 2014 - but going by what Garber said, he is in no rush to expand, blah blah but he also said he wants to make sure the situation is right in Canada as well.

We will see - hopefully Garber says something at the half tonight!

Haha we got nothing from him tonight except for their being two teams in 2011. I was hoping for some more details on how things were progressing than that.

Honestly - this is good news for us. Trust me! The fact that he is waiting to MLS CUP - which will be St Louis as we all think and honestly - they are selling announcment day scarves already!!! Check Eadsbrigade.org - Great for them if this is true!

That means the 18th team will not be announced until about Feb, kind of like last year! Gives NY a little more time!

This is good for all cities, and US!!!

Sorry, but I'm lost. Are they adding four teams in 2011 or two?

They approved 2 today for 2011 - we all imagine St Louis as one of them

I want to take it as good news, but I just don;'t have a good feeling about this round of expansion. If St. Louis is in as you are saying, I don't know if NYC can't get their stuff together to be a 2011 expansion.
