    but totally different assignments........never had any freedom at all, strict XXs and OOs sit back, absorb and counter.....

    Ok, let's analyze this. MB and JJ didn't do well in BB's reign because they didn't have the freedom. Under JK's watch JJ has all the freedom in the world and MB is more of a complete player that he was under his father, the results are not that much better. What's next?

    MB and JJ make sense together if you think of the range both have and the fact that they can handle both defense and offense. Both have such wheels that the two do the work of three. They can arrive to any point in the field to press in tandem. They can both track back ferociously. They are also playing for high level teams so they are constantly in tip top shape mentally and physically. Bob would have played those two above the four man defense but Klinsmann plays them higher up. Klinsmann's way allows them to press higher up and allows them to be truly in the middle of everything. The one thing both are lacking is that neither is a killer dribbler but they are absolutely class for the US and we need both on the field.
