So on a Saturday afternoon, during the dog days of American sports (a small window that is void of the NFL, MLB, and March Madness) there is not a big enough market to attract a network to televise the US/New Zealand game.

US Soccer has yet to announce web streaming or even Matchcrapper. I assume this is to maximize ticket sales.

So, if we are blessed with Matchtracker, I look forward complaining with old friends. God knows reading about a match is WAY better than watching one! Oh, well! Nothing a six pack of Nordeast won't solve.

It's a shame that US Soccer don't stream the game as they did at the end of the last year. The games againts Canada and Sweden were pretty huge sucesses if I'm not mistaken. Have just read that over 17,000 tickets have been sold, and that's a great number for the national team. They should promote the US WNT even more, now that the WPS have cancelled. They should continue to build up the momentum for the Olympics..

haha, i was just in Minnesota and the fact that you mentioned Grain Belt's Nordeast made me a little jelly... I will not have the luxury of drinking such beer out west, while reading the glorious matchtracker...

Bitch and ye shall be heard! Streaming announced on twitter. Rock on! We can continue to complain about something else if you like.

Like no access to Brain Melt Nordeast outside of the Midwest!

That should be an American right.

    Like watching soccer on TV!

Can I still bitch because the webstream doesn't do my DVR any good? If they'll keep it up and replayable, I retract my complaint.

This was the best twitter update of the day :) Let's hope this continues through the season.

I was NOT looking forward to repeating my days when I used to watch my cousins NCAA team on gametracker. By watch I mean read!

apparently 19,000,000 tickets have been sold for this game in a 20,000 stadium looks like almost sold out!

I made the trip from LA to Arizona, but I don't think I'll make the trek to Texas unless I was truly insane(and there have been questions about my sanity in recent months!).

Lets just say I'm glad the streaming will be on for saturday, I've been so depressed over WPS folding lately.

Every time there is a USWNT game that is not on TV, I email USSoccer and complain, stating that I am a fan and would like to watch the game on TV. I usually get a response. If they receive enough emails, it might make a difference. So, I encourage others to do the same.

At least we got the webstream, not that I am happy with that.

My guess is that USSoccer cannot show a game on Fox Soccer due to contracts with ABC/ESPN. so if ESPN has no room in their schedule or if they are not interested then the game is not aired at all. Just my guess though. It is frustrating to have 200+ channels and not one airing the game I want to watch.

I believe Jeff Kassouf said on "This Week in Women's Soccer" that streaming would not be available, but I don't know how he can know that for sure. I guess he's pretty certain though, so I'm not holding my breath.

Not even German TV will be showing it this year. Previously they've broadcast/webcast a few matches. Rights to the broadcasts seem to be outrageously priced, though, so I can only imagine that the German channels gave up. Swedish TV might manage a webcast or something if Sweden reaches the final, but that's about it.

Apparently, the Japanese Federation will be streaming their games. So, there might be a snowballs chance that we could see the USA vs. Japan match. I did not see much on their website. Any smart people wanna help me figure this out? I got a shinny quarter for the first person with a working link!;)

This is a good read. Although I feel that having no broadcasts of these games (at least streaming) sets women's soccer back a little, I can understand the choices made. I wish the Algarve Cup organization would stream every game in the tournament and allow people around the world to subscribe to watch the games.

Also, it says that the USSF has no problem taping each of the games, then editing them and putting together highlights packages. Why don't they also simply put the entire games available for viewing on their website? I want to watch the entire game over watching a highlights package.
