do they have any tv at all for this game? I guess someone from the FO could present FSC with footage if they were recording.
Tell them you want to SEE the games online. You can't appreciate a player like Marta with a bunch of stupid text messages or even follow soccer properly like that.
There is no TV for this game but hopefully WPS is working on something for later in the season but they need to hear from us. The game between Boston and Bay Area Pride is on in 10 minutes so they BETTER show highlights from this game there. I would think someone would get some highlights of Marta's 2 goals online too.
If the financial climate was different Sol or WPS could find more sponsors to pay for telecast or streaming? I'm assuming it's a $$$ thingy since we know Antonucci isn't unaware of the need.
Hey, I Was at the Game, goals were really good. Sky blue plans on having video up for the game tomorrow.
So we can see Marta's goals on the Sky Blue website tomorrow? I assume they'll also be on the Sol's site.
According to a PA announcement at the game yesterday, there is supposed to be a full game replay sometime soon (I believe they said today, but I would give it some time). That is supposed to be the case for every home game I believe. To paint the picture a little bit, here is this: http://www.examiner.com/x-4801-NY-Soccer-Examiner~y2009m4d6-Sky-Blue-FC-inaugural-day-A-fans-perspective-with-slideshow I will say the pitch looked great and the weather made it even better. Security and stadium operations were all Somerset Patriots baseball people, but they were pretty appreciative, I think. I spoke with one gentleman manning the VIP patio entrance and he was clearly a baseball guy but he was commenting on how great of a job they did with the field.
A full game replay on what site?? The WPS site? If they're going to do that they certainly would have highlights as well. It's about time they do that since fans need to be able to WATCH the games to grow and sustain the league.
more pics and Gameday review at: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze80pxf/wps/ Partial review Player ratings ( I normally do not do these, but it was a request) Sky Blue FC (Not much cheering going on, felt kinda sorry for Heather and Kasey A’s Heather O'Reilly – she worked her butt off the whole game Kacey White – the same B’s Keeely Dowling has the tough job of replacing Rampone. Anita Asante – Solid for the most part C’s Jenni Branham – tough outing against the best offensive team D’s Natashi Kai (74: Kelly Parker); both were equally not effective and could not get by Makoski No rating’s Jenny Hammond, Christie Rampone (C) (27, , Julianne Sitch; Jen Buczkowski (46: Sarah Walsh, Collette McCallum) Megan Schnur.– I just don’t have anything to say or really paid no attention to these players Los Angeles Sol – A’s Karina LeBlanc; - She was more impressive than Marta… Everyone in our section was talking about her Manya Makoski – WOW.. I knew she could play, she looks so lean but she takes a licking out there – Defensive player of the year Shannon Boxx - OK, I really watched her because I did not like her play last week, I gave her the A because she did everything she could possibly do and her passing was deadly…looked comfortable and was having fun Marta – Sol was keeping higher in this game then the last and it paid off. Brittany Bock – no wonder she beat out one of my favorite players in camp.. very solid B’s Aly Wagner - Great to see her play, she came on was very effective and ran all over, played the best D I have seen in a long time and her passes were very crisp Han Duan finally has more training sessions and played a good not spectacular game Liz Bogus (70, Worked very well with Manya to get the ball up the field C’s Allison Falk, , Stephanie Cox,; Aya Miyama, Camille Abily, (C);,. Not much to say about them –Sorry PS – I owe a HUGE apology to Kendall Fletcher… I worked game crew for a couple of years with the Wildcats.. and of all the players, her name I could not remember when she came by to sign autographs Thoughts on the Venue: It was very quiet... the crowd lacked energy. the seats went from midfield round the back of one goal. Loudspeaker Guy was annoying, or the volume was just too high. There were some cheering but it was a lot of people there to see Marta. I think they just don't have a roudy crowd. They need to solve that..some music would have helped other than the lame Ole, Ole... something, even having a volunteer run near the rail with a Sky Blue Flag, get people up and moving a few times... I felt like I was in the visitor section cause the Sol walked by us several times but Sky Blue never came over to our end a all The Players were on the far side of the field so they could not influence the crowd; having them on the spectator’s side would have been great.

Weekly notes from WPS has info on Sol game and Marta's two goals. Down near bottom a bit about Bogus leaving Pride and going from bench to starting.
pasosoccerdad: Thank you for the Player ratings!! We can't have a discussion forum without bloggers pitching opinions.
What the fans NEED is VIDEO highlights of each game or the league is going to have trouble growing. Marta is by far the most exciting player out there and it's a joke we still can't see her 2 goals. Adding online streaming of games should be done in the weeks ahead too. Experts say leagues don't survive if fans can't watch their games.
Aside from Marta's two goals, Shannon Boxx was the best player on the field. She was absolutely everywhere. She was making threatening runs deep into Sky Blue territory and also making some critical, well-timed tackles around her own 18. It was the first time that I have seen her play live (I think, maybe years ago) and I was very impressed. Han Duan also looked pretty good for LA, though Miyama was less of a threat than against Washington. Though in great condition, the field is a lot smaller than the one at the HDC, which had an effect.
I thought all fields had to be regulation size. Shouldn't they mandate that to make things as fair as possible?
Ley82, thanks for the link but that's obviously a fan in the stands who took that. Can't see up close what's going on too well since it was taken so far back. I can't believe WPS doesn't have just 1 camera person at games to simply film highlights. They've got to know how important it is to have game highlights especially in games that Marta is in. BTW, what's with the funky music??
Well, actually, that camera angle is from the sky boxes, not the seats. So unless there was a fan there... Judging by the airport pictures, I am guessing that is "official" video put on by someone with the Sol.
