he's an aussie who's lived in korea for a long time. he's a popular comedian in korea now. curious if he'd support knt over australia. lol that's him after he lost weight, unless he put it back on.
That's mr. Sam hammington. An Australian comedian in Korea. Came to Korea as a part of student exchange program in late 90s and been living in Korea every since. http://m.news1.kr/view.html?no=1621406 KFA appointed hammington to become an ambassador to promote football league for grade school in Korea. In the article, he has been asked 'if your child plays football and been asked to choose the national team, which national team you want your child to be in?'. Hammington replied 'its better to be in Korean nationals'. Mr. Hammington has been married to a Korean lady and has been one of the more popular token foreigner in Korea. I didn't know about him until very recently when mbc aired a program called '진짜사나이'(Jin-jja sanayi). Go on a YouTube, copy and paste the Korean word and see him in action.
seems like foreign people have recently been getting more and more popular on Korean TV... I'm sure Hammington would cheer against Australia in front of an MBC camera if the money was right.
in at least one of the previous dream cups, there non-asians invited that ended up backing out. surprised to see zamora, gattuso, and materazzi. they don't seem like PJS-friend types lol.
Apparently it's a fake. Korea Football News@KORFootballNews Participants list of 2014 Asian Dream Cup I tweeted yesterday is reportedly a fake one. Sorry
Quote from Pirlo on being shadowed by our very own PJS during that CL game 08-09: On Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to use Park Ji Sung to man-mark him, something Pirlo hates Even Ferguson, the purple-nosed manager who turned Manchester United into a fearsome battleship, couldn't resist the temptation. He's essentially a man without blemish, but he ruined that purity just for a moment when it came to me. A fleeting shabbiness came over the legend that night. On one of the many occasions when our paths crossed during my time at Milan, he unleashed Park Ji Sung to shadow me. The midfielder must have been the first nuclear powered South Korean in history, in the sense that he rushed about the pitch at the speed of an electron. .. He's a man without blemish, but he ruined that purity just for a moment when it came to me. A fleeting shabbiness came over the legend that night... They'd programmed him to stop me. His devotion to the task was almost touching. Even though he was a famous player, he consented to being used as a guard dog.
I sat next to Bobby Convey's family at an MLS game once - He and Seol were teammates there so I chatted a bit about that. They had a story about how Seol bought a huge Cadillac Escalade when he arrived, and everyone at Reading had a good laugh about him trying to maneuver it around in the tiny streets in the city.
