I was just thinking, when Bonfrere said he wanted try out our younger players and see what they can do, why did he never try Kim Young Kwang?? I mean Lee Woon Jae is not at his best shape right now, i was watching my WC 2002 dvd man, right now he looks like he put on about 30 pounds.. I know Lee Woon Jae is a good keeper but I think Kim Young Kwang should have gotten a chance to play during last couple weeks.. I dont see Lee Woon Jae playing much after next year.. kinda reminds me of Seaman for England... so what do you guys think?
Yeah he looks like he gained some pounds. I think he'll have a few more years until hes replaced so thats my thoughts.
he is still the best korean goalkeeper though because of experience, although i think he should get into better shape.
Absolutely. He should have been playing Lee & Kim together to 1) develop competition for Lee to keep in shape 2) develop Kim in case Lee fades, get injured Remember what Hiddink did? He kept playing both Lee and Kim BJ until WC02. Then, he played the better of the two, Lee, even when Korea lost in the semis and it was reasonable to play Kim BJ a few minutes in 3rd/4th place match.
Boner needs to start using Kim Young Kwang. The way Lee Woon Jae is going, i'm not sure if he's going to have enough fitness by the time June 2006 comes around.
When i saw Lee a few month ago i thought he looked a little bit fat, but when i saw him now i think he lost some.
I would like to see both Kim Young Kwang and Kim Yong Dae get more playing time, regardless of whether or not Lee is in good shape or form. These guys need more opportunities to prove themselves.
Lee Woon-jae struggled to get around in the all star game last night. You could tell his weight is starting to get the better of him, especially on Lee Dong-gook's goal.
