Plus, alcohol is so outrageously expensive in Norway -- and is outlawed at soccer matches -- that I can't take advantage of someone's beer goggles.
They were the frozen banquet kind that's more of a dry hot wing (seasoning in the batter) than a wet hot wing. But they're good. Especially when I just want spicy wings without the sauce. They still get dunked in ranch or caesar though.
Oh, and I don't know if they have them where you are, but Wing Zone is one of the BEST chain places for hot wings. They can get expensive, but DAMN they're tasty. Good ranch, too. (Another suggestion would be Buffalo's. Best wings I've ever had. You can even order a hot wing dinner, where you get 10 wings and two sides. Hrrrrmmmm. :drools:
IIRC, it had a lot to do with drinking and driving. Although I'm sure fights (however mild) played a part. In Norway, you can't even have a single beer and drive. Any alcohol in your system and they can get you for DUI. (Ah, here it is: Drinking and driving: Don't do it. The limit is very low (equivalent to a small glass of wine or half a pint of weak beer). Anything over 0.02 per cent and you could face anything up to imprisonment.)
On the flip side, when you're watching a boring ass soccer match, there's no beer to save it. But it wasn't bad. You just have to drink before or after the match.
Wing Zone is indeed awesome. There's one here that delivered to my old place. It's still not too far away - a trip over there this week might be in order.
Ha! Y'know how Campbell's is all kind of sweet and not really tasty? Toro has tomato soup in dry packets that you add water to, and it's way more savoury than any other off the store shelf tomato soup I've had in the U.S. It's like there's a bit of dill and fennel in it. It's like a good base to add in cheese or meat. I even took some tiny salad shrimp last time and threw them in. Quite good. And only about ... $1.50 a pack, IIRC.
boo. Sorry. I had my first soccer game in about a year and I'm sore as hell. It's supposed to be an old lady league but I seemed to be one of the few old ladies that wasn't able to run, scratch that, sprint all day long.
I had to take it and pass to be able to take our basic exercise class. I failed the first and most basic part swimming 50 ft and back. I go to the wall but I was gassed. I never learned any techniques so my freestyle was terrible. I just feel really bad about it.
I can get where I need to go and can avoid drowning, but I'm self taught. I don't know all the little things that I guess everyone but me knows.
Yeah it's my fault for being the slow idiot that can't swim. It's really tough to watch people easily do something basic that you can't do. I can take being a failure with people but with a class. It hurts.
Lets see if I can make Mookie laugh. In the guppie class, do you have to wear arm floats like the other children?
