With the explosion of games on FB, many, MANY people put up fake names -- even names you know aren't real that sound like true internet handles -- so they can friend 1,000s of other random people in order to max out their game stats. (These games usually reward you for having a LOT of friends that play) And I think FB has more or less let things evolve naturally. Also, Facebook stalking is now a truly worthy pastime.
I'm fighting with a DVD I bought from someone. I can't play it on a computer, but I can on a normal DVD player. The only problem is, I want to take it with me abroad to Norway, but I don't know if it's region coded or not. (It's a copy of a copy from waaaayyy back. Nothing professional.) I also can't take screen shots from it or edit out scenes from it. It's giving me major fits. I'm trying to do a straight image copy and re-burn it, but I can't see that it would fix everything, since it'll be a duplicate of the original. Grrrrr. Maybe I should major in computers instead of psych.
yeah. I now rue the amount of personal info I gave fb. And I didn't give them much. It isn't b/c of anything coming back to bite me (yet) just giving out the info to the company. Of course, everything's already out there for some one to find it they want to.
I've tried it on my iMac at work, my PC at home and every video player I had on both that would play DVDs. Still nothing. Opening up the DVD to see the files, the biggest ones are 128 MB that should be about 1-2 GB each. It's odd. I'm trying to work through it now.
You know what's awesome about posting on a message board that's not BS? Being a complete douche and not having to pay for it or care if you get banned/infracted, etc.
I am no computer expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn. Dumb Question to Ask: Does your computer have a dvd player in it or a CD-rom? Do you know if the original was made for the US or European market? Because there are different region codes so it might not work on the other. On the other stuff, I will pray for your soul.
haha one of the boards i post on, it is encouraged to be a complete douche. and mock eachother as hard as possible. they are my people. also sucks about your thingy not playing, perhaps buy a cheap portable dvd player? vlc usually plays everything for me, once it even was able ot play a cassette tape through my computer (no, it didn't but if it did, the cassette would have been ace of base's the sign)
Yeah I said it'll be time for me to make another before I graduate. I know some people add me just to get in my Kool-Aide. I'm tired of living half of my life in secrecy as well, but I have to admit, I love being mysterious. Glory loves me more! Mookie is 1/1 of my real name.
Now a days they make them with both built into one. Shit I remember when we used to have to use floppys. Windows 95 up in this biotch!
I got banned for deflecting from a board onto another made by us rouges. I've only been banned once though. I can be an a****** (if heavily provoked) and it's not too hard to get me angry if you hit the wrong buttons, but I've mellowed out. I guess I've learned to kill people with laughter. I've always wanted to join an adult board just to see how many closet freaks were out there.
DVD-drive. It was created from a U.S. DVD burner, here in the U.S. I've pretty much covered all the basics. But thanks for trying to help.
Ahhhhhhh. Wait. VLC player IS playing more than the 1.5 minutes all the other apps are giving me. I think it may load fully. Now, to see if the convert works on this. As a last resort, I can always use my capture software to record what's on my screen.
1991. It was the first U.S. match ever broadcast. And Nordby's in goal for Noway -- at age 17 -- and is sporting quite the impressive mullet.
Is it sad that I'm a bit disappointed in myself for only knowing (and being able to immediately picture) 10 of the 11 players? I had to look up the keeper. It is probably even sadder that I'm trying to figure out what 1991 warm up game it was since I know that wasn't a lineup from the actual cup.
