Racism boils down to treating someone differently because of the color of their skin. KSY making a monkey face to someone who has the same color skin as him (ie, Japanese) does not make him a racist. It makes him a dick.

Now, if he had made the monkey gesture to a brown (eg, Indian or Middle Eastern) or black team, then yes, he would definitely be a racist.
