Despite getting the ball, I think that was a really bad tackle by Wes Brown. Gaston Ramirez might have broken his ankle there.
It's a great sign for Sunderland to get a point despite playing so poorly to start and against good opposition Never were great but they kept fighting. Ki was ok enough but I think he was a bit too far forward.
No, he was utter shite. And NO, the naysayers were NEVER proven wrong about his poor fitness. Even now it is mediocre at best. I imagine the only players he outdistanced today were the two goalkeepers. It was so easy to mark him out of the game, because he just waited for the ball to come to him. Southampton had 69 percent of the possession and about 4 or 5 times the attempts on goal in the first half. Ki was one of the reasons as he barely touched the ball and hardly won a single ball all game.
http://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2014/1/18/5322020/sunderland-2-2-southampton-player-ratings I mostly agree. Although, KSY could have asserted himself more in the first half. He did well to create the second goal opportunity. Southampton played unbelievably well in that first half initiating the high press. They reminded me of our Olympic 12 side under HMB. But they faded in the second half as Sunderland clawed back.
Interesting with all the noise about Ki's non-recall that despite all the injuries Laudrup has shelvey still the most advanced of the three "central midfielders" (quotes because Amat being a defender)

Getting destroyed by Spurs at home. If they get relegated, their leverage when selling KSY will plummet. Not looking good for them. Really foolish to have let KSY go out on loan as we pointed out and as many of their fans (and Sunderland fans) are now seeing in hindsight.
