As long as our players don't get injured, am I the only one who really doesn't care about the World Cup? I guess it's a good way to pass the time in the summer, but the defensive strategy and all the teams lack of cohesiveness is just boring and sloppy.

I'm similar. I'll watch and want England and the US to do well, but beyond that, not so much.

For me, it exceeds the Olympics and is the best sports event. But that's just me.

Same here, except I watch and hope all of our potential transfer targets do poorly. :whistling:

Don't get me started on the Olympics. The IOC makes FIFA look like quakers.

Yeah, it's definitely the biggest sporting event in the world.

Belgium, Argentina and France (ugh) and the hosts have to be pleased with their groups

if the US can get more than 3 points I think that would be an accomplishment

England seem certain to get four points and not qualify :D

Chile really going to be the spoilers in their group

Officially official. WC 2022 will take place in the winter. Likely just before ACON.

It's delaying the inevitable, but FIFA have commented that Valcke was expressing a view and not an official statement. The official word coming after Brazil.

Wish they'd just put a statement out and be done with it so we can see how buggered that season and the one's either side of it will be for fans of club football.
