Hello, this has nothing to do with the Wizards. I was just wondering where I could get some information about men's leagues in the Kansas City area, preferrably south KC, Johnson County/Belton/Harrisonville. A website or a phone number or something. Also, considering I haven't played in a long time and am sure I am crap right now, does anyone know of any regular pickup games or anything? I'm 22 and I haven't played since about junior high. I didn't get any decent coaching, I know now, and I played "midfield" back then. Now I think I could make a good keeper or a reliable defender with some practice. I say that because my ball skills are less than desirable. Just some info so I don't get thrown to the wolves. Hell, anyone just willing to get together and kick the ball around would be nice.
When I left KC in 1998, most of the mens outdoor soccer was in Johnson County, Shawnee area There is an indoor facility in Lee's Summit, All Star Sports Arena that has men's house teams. The Soccer Dome, which is more north KC, is another indoor option. I don't know if "All American" indoor soccer is still in Overland Park or not. But all the indoor arena's have "house teams". As for pick up games, there is probably a group of Mexican's playing somwhere on Sunday's. But I couldnt tell you where. Also, perhaps around Rockhurst College or UMKC. James
Jackson County (Missouri) has an outdoor league. No summer league this year, but the next outdoor season starts in late August. We usually play either at Kenneth Road, I-70 & Woodschapel, or 122nd & Blue River. Beech, Britt and I all play on the same team, I am not sure if we have slots open on our roster. But if you are interested PM me and I'll put you in touch with the guy that runs our team.

there's usually a pickup game going on every tues and thur evening at around 6 at the sprint campus on 117th and nall. it's usually 6v6 or 7v7 and is pretty laid back. we usually play on hockey-size goals, but i'm sure we'd use the regulation size ones if it got up to 10v10. i don't know most of the guys that usually play, but it's real casual so i'm sure you'd be welcome.
I play and coach down here in Harrisonville, MO and the coaches and some high school/college players get together almost every Sunday night at 6:00 PM for pickup socceer. We play at the Mennonite church field in Harrisonville. It's usually 6v6 or so but always a lot of fun. I don't think they are playing this week as many are competing in the Show-Me Games in Columbia. PM me and I'll give you a number to call to see if there will be play.
