This probably should go in the "Build it now" thread but I could not find it.

SJE President says on-field success bringing gains in ticket sales, support for new stadium
    by Elliott Almond, Mercury News

    Several interesting points:
    - 20-percent increase in season-ticket revenue thus far, current season-ticket sales at about 4,000
    - 20,000 tickets sold for June 30 game against the Los Angeles Galaxy. They expect more than 40,000.
    - still shooting for 2013 and if the stadium opens in mid-season 2013, there will be no long extended road trip.

No big surprise abouth ticket sales. Success field = ticket sales.

A little surprised that 2013 is still being talked for the new stadium. With less than a year away from the start of the 2013 season, I was telling my wife that it would be 2014. Still, I would expect a good chunck of the 2013 season would be at Buck Shaw.

I'm still waiting for shovels-in-the-ground. Until then, I refuse to get too excited. Once they dig up the asphalt, I promise to start jumping up and down like a little kid!

Interestingly (I live perhaps 1/2 mile from the new 9ers stadium and bike past it on the way to light rail most days) they are working on that thing almost around the clock. If the Quakes stadium has the same sort of schedule, I don't see why it couldn't be built in a year.

What new stadium? We have a lot of talk, until they bulldoze it flat and start welding a structure he have nada. Once they begin building it I'll start getting stoked.

You're quite welcome. :) It's so refreshing to converse with sensible people.
