I just saw this on MLSrumors: http://www.mls-rumors.net/9909/2010/07/video-justin-brauns-mom-removed-from-rio-tinto-stadium/ Did anybody else see or hear anything? I only saw her when she actually left the field and walked into the stands on the south-end (never a smart move wearing a Chivas jersey). At the time I had no idea who she was or what she was doing. Makes more sense now.
Must have been the fans who got Max Hall's family (ha ha). Sucks. I was hoping that we'd get a shot to land Braun or trade for him one of these days. He has good pace for his size and can play.
Classic. Poor thing, she got hit by confetti. OUCH! Did anyone happen to see all the shit Chivas fans were dumping from the upper seats. RSL fans didn't throw a tantrum.
She should form a support group with Crapid's supporter Jasonma. He got clobbered with confetti as well.
Yeah, I was fortunate enough to be down on the field when this was going down (I'm the one laughing at her in that picture). For the record... She was walking around in a Chivas shirt (I didn't know she was Braun's mom, heard that after the first half of the incident; all I knew is she was some lady in the wrong colors) in front of our section and someone shot a confetti popper in her direction. She ran over to security, screaming that she'd been assaulted and trying to get them to throw out/arrest people in our section. Most of sections 9, 10, and 11 started saying some unkind things about her at this point. Eventually, security got her to leave. Then she came back (she was pretty drunk, I think) with Sandy cops and security in tow and started pointing at a whole bunch of random people--even some who hadn't been chanting--telling the police to arrest them, got up in a fan's face to scream at him, and hit one of the guys in the front row. At this point security finally stepped in, grabbed her underneath the arms, and carried/dragged her out. Sucks to be her, but she was wearing away team colors on the side of the pitch, she was drunk and belligerent, she freaked the ******** out about some scraps of paper, and then she basically tried to get in a fight with the entire South End. It's her own damn fault, and Justin Braun and his Twitter complaints can suck a dick.
I was down in section 11 and watched a lot of it. She mainly seemed to really be getting into it with section 9 (who tend to be a bit rowdier than the rest of the south stands.) I didn't really have the best vantage point but she indeed seemed to be getting angry about those silly confetti tubes section 9 was shooting off, and at one point, got the Metro police to take the tubes away (which they later returned.) She kept on going over to confront section 9 which of course just goaded them into even rowdier behavior. More name calling, paper throwing, etc, just rowdy but relatively harmless fun. I kept on wondering why the hell she didn't just walk away from the bunch but she just wouldn't let it drop and kept on going over there and egging the group on. Finally 2 security officers picked her up, one on each arm and carried her out while she was kicking her legs (which were dangling in mid air) and screaming. Just hilarious to watch as it really did remind me of a small child who isn't getting along with their playmates is throwing a tantrum when their parent picks them up and carries them away from the battlefield.
Be a mom and stay in your seat. Don't mess with the fans. There is nothing like being mobbed by the fans.
This episode reminds me of an exchange in White Men Can't Jump. Wesley Snipes: "F you. Your mom was an astronaut." Woody Harrelson: "My mom was too drunk to be an astronaut."
To whoever stole the chivas fans banner, you are my hero!! Plus the porta potties were out of toilet paper and it was nice to have something to wipe my a$$ with.
I REALLY hope Braun NEVER becomes part of this team. This is just toooo good. His mom and dad are, from what I have seen of them at games and tournaments, very arrogant and seem to think very highly of themselves. This shit was bound to happen as soon as she decided to wear a chivas jersey in front of our supporters groups. What a dumb bitch. Braun is a winny little bitch.... and so is Justin (see, the banner posibilities are endless)
You just nailed it. She knew what she was doing. You don't intentionally walk in front of the supporters section wearing the other teams colors. She is lucky she didn't actually get assaulted by a bottle to the head, and to any of you goat ********ing dbags who say she wasn't drunk, She got in my face and that old hag was hammered. I hope the cops Rodney Kinged her a$$.
I will be at the next home match against Chivas if for no other reason but to see the banner's hammering the hammerd mom. Justin "Should have put her on a leash"
Now that's funny stuff right there. I don't care who you are. I've heard Braun is an arrogant SOB. Like mother like son.
Guys... moms and dads are crazy about their people in any sports league around the world. Get over it.
very true, and really they should be very proud... HOWEVER there is a thin line between showing pride for your son/daughter and being an arrogant douche bag begging for attention. I base my judgement on Braun's family not on this incident (though it doesnt help) but on the park city men's soccer tournament last year. Braun had been signed by Chivas by then, so who shows up to the tournament decked out in chivas gear? his parents. it didnt end there, though. They proceeded to walk around to each game going on, making sure to talk to anyone and everyone who even knew who their son was. It was hilarious. Westminster had just got done playing some idaho team (braun played for OM) and they were walking through the middle of the pitch talking to people. Cool, your son made the dream, but come on...
Sort of reminds me of the Utah-BYU rivalry where commonly fans of the visiting team will deliberately obtain tickets in the home team's student section (rather than getting them in the visiting fan section), and proudly wear their school colors and be as loud and obnoxious as possible, and then whine to security when the home students and fans start in on them. (I've seen this for many years at both schools.) If you go right up to the most boisterous and passionate section of the home town fans trying to provoke a response then don't get bent out of shape when you get it.
