Here was the plan at end of 2010:

    Step 1 survive, check, phew.
Step 2 relaunch with a sustainable model, done.
Step 3 win dammit -- oh yeah, that we are doing.
Step 4 get the fans back on board, hello? this means you.

Those of you that were at Benedictine on Saturday will agree that it was an awesome day. After fearing that the Red Stars were gone last year we have not only revived the patient but its up off the operating table and sprinting down the field.

We are playing some awfully attractive attacking soccer. We exceeded our hopes on selling tickets Saturday and the fans had a blast despite the withering 94 degree heat.

And yes FanAddict the stadium isn't perfect but its exactly what we needed when we were finally allowed to relaunch the team only 3 months ago. They have been great to work with, and flexible. We'll continue to look for the perfect stadium for a long-term home. But we are playing in 2012 whereever the best fit is, and will continue to aspire to play the best women's soccer possible.

If we broke your hearts last year and you want to watch out of the corner of your eye a little longer before you recommit -- so be it. We'll be here and we'll be partying with the fans. There may yet be opportunities to see us host some playoff games in Chicago before July 31st.

So if you can make it lets blow it out on July 10, please pass the word and try to come. If you no longer care that is fine I guess, but I don't understand. We'd like you to join the party. If you'd rather sit with a beer and watch us on webcast -- cool, you'll be pleased with the play and proud of what we are doing. We don't have the time to make this July 10 game incredible commentated webcast eye candy -- but its way better than what most teams are offering to their fans.

We look likely to clinch on July 10 and are poised to make a deep playoff run in WPSL.

Thank you for everything you are all doing. Its very encouraging to see the Red Stars still being active in the community and doing well on the field also.

I went to the July 2nd game and had a blast. There was a great crowd and it was nice to see some old faces from WPS, Toyota Park days.

Shout Out!! to Arnim Whisler for keeping this organization going. I'm still hopefull we can rejoin the WPS next season but for right now it's good to see some excellent soccer by some great players including some former WPS as well as college stars.

I certainly hope that those who are not at the game can log into the webcast.
the Chicago Red Stars are still doing more for their great fans then most of the teams in the WPS are doing for theirs.

If those in the WPS feel organizations don't matter, well you can have Doctor Dan in South Florida. The CRS are still top notch.

    Go Red Stars!
