Based on pure talent Pino should be starting for Colombia. He is better than a guy like Cuadrado. That said, Cuadrado has ganas, guts and hustles all the time. He also plays better defense as seen in the Mexico match when he was flying around the pitch everywhere.

I hope Pino plays well and comes back to the National team but it won't be easy. Disciplinary problems aside... ...Colombia has so many players to choose from at forward/wing.

He is? I haven't seen him do shit in over 5 years. He failed in France, Turkey and didn't really set Arabia on fire. People saw him do a cool juke move on Argies sub 20 a couple years ago. Some long goals but guy really didn't do much more than Gio Moreno has done in his career. This kid is a failure another Johnieer Montano. His best bet is to come back to Colombia play for Junior, Nacional, Dept Cali try to do well in Copa Lib then go to Mexico, Brazil or Argentina like Quintero did when he failed in Russia. This kid has failed in way way too many places for people to even rate him

I believe he is. I have seen his tape from turkey and Saudi Arabia when he is healthy. He is a very dangerous.

Thing is he is rarely healthy and when he is he is undisciplined.... ... That is a different argument than pure talent.

exactly how exactly does that make you a NT starter. Cuardado has been the best player for us many games now along with James and Pabon. People still mention Pino which is mind blowing to me. He did everything he did at a youth Tournie !!! If you guys believe in Pino why does everyone hate Rodallega? Who was 1000x better in youth level when he was competing with a Messi led Argentina !!!!

Why are we even discussing him? There are at least 8 players in front of him for starting position.

******** Victor Hugo Montano has never been called up despite being a regular starter for Rennes. He deserves a call up much more than this failed loser.

Crzd, aren't you were the one who always asked for Pino to be called? ;) I pretty much remember that you did. Anyway, I'm with delrojo on this one, Montaño is the most underrated Colombian striker today and I hope it'll change. Regarding Pino, I do agree with Crzd that the best for him is to return to Colombia to lpay in our local football which is 10x better then the Saudi and maybe, just maybe, he could get his chances, although I don't think that Pekerman even needs to think in this direction.

I am not saying he should be an automatic starter.

I am saying he has the talent to start if he ever gets his act together. (Which may never happen but the talent is there.)

I look at film of both he and Cuadrado and they both are fantastic players. Cuadrado has a lot of heart, is more disciplined and does the little things better. HE is a fantastic player and deserves to start.

That said, I have seen a lot more highlights of Pino that just make me scratch my head, raise my eyebrows and say "wow how did he do that!" How did he run past that defender or how did he put that powerful wicked shot on goal. Etc.
Just something about him that makes him special.

I don't hate Rodallega so that does not apply.
