A lot of us here on the Col forum want to follow him though (as he is of Colombian blood) and he plays abroad. If you don't care for him just don't follow the thread. We're ten pages deep so there is plenty of interest.

Also, the dougie is a lot of fun!

This is very simple the Colombia fed SUCKS (Sorry efer STOP RED CARDING ME !!!)

He left at 11? He was going to come back last year to play for Millos thank god he didn't because he never would have developed into anything there. Thats where players go to die.

Not one time did our coaches even look at this kid, or acknowledge that he exist. Much like the 4 guys we have in England they have been asked if Lara has ever even called them and nothing !!! How can you blame him for choosing another team

As for Arbolea he is 31 his time to play NT soccer is all but up and Poland has been chasing him forever. He asked so many times and made it public he wanted to play on the Colombian NT and not a call. Should these guys wait forever?

We do a crappy job scouting talent outside of Bogota,Cali or Medillen. Thats why 90% of our junior NT players come from there. Colombia is not that big of a country for that to be a huge problem. Why don't we scout abroad for Colombians in youth teams? Why don't we look abroad for players with 1 Colombian parent?

We have this mentality of this 5-0 against Argentina that we are some super team that shouldn't go down to a certain level. Right now it is USA/MLS I think 5-6 years ago it was Mexico.

The pot calls the kettle black...

The irony is that for CRZD it was actually a pretty thoughtful post with decent grammar. Didn't see much wrong with it.

It's just futbol, the guy is still Colombian, there's still people interested in discussing his development.

There always will be butt hurt people, but they are not to blame. Blame our crappy fed and the fact that they put profit over quality when it is important and even when it isn't.

Agudelo scored a really nice goal last night against the Sounders.

He used his strength to push away the defender and then his skill to slot it home against Keller at the left post.

    Simply Brilliant.

Kid is going to be a great one.

Agudelo came in at half time and scored the game tying goal in USA's 1-1 tie against Argentina.

Re: Juan Agudelo- from MANIZALES TO MLS

Half of me is really happy for him but this kid is a beast.... would have been sick if we had him as an option in Colombia but US needs him more than we do. The US NT if it had Rossi up at striker and Subotic at CB it would be a top 6 team in the world. This team just needs an fing striker. When a 18 year old with less than 10 pro games under his belt is your best striker is just sad

Terrific. His control is fantastic and he can finish in tight quarters. Scored a goal against Argentina to tie a tough friendly today. Totally changed the game for the US. After the match spoke with the studio guys and you could see how excited the kid is about what he is doing.

    Awesome.

My guess is, leading up to the summer transfer window, the Euro offers will start piling in for Juan. My guess is he's in europe by feb 2012 at the latest.

    Not this again. :p

Look crzy we have talked about this a lot. The kid is American. HE sounds American he played in an American system his whole life. HE trained with Millos for like what a week? Just be happy for the kid and don't be jealous.

Besides, Colombia has many strikers so this kid probably would not have been given a chance for a VERY long time anyway.

Re: Juan Agudelo- from MANIZALES TO MLS

He is 18 came to the US at 11. It is not like he was here at 2 or born here. They capped him very early

Would he have been given a shot by Colombia probably not until he gets to Europe and we wait 7 years and he was 25 but this shows how crappy our fed is.

First of all he came here to the USA at the age of 8. (so the majority of his life IS AMERICAN).
Second of all (as I have mentioned more than once) he was just a fat kid with no coordination until he hit his teen years.

Then he learned how to play soccer in the NYRB academy.

Don't make it seem like the Fed missed out on a child prodigy or something.
