Giaccherini's only getting paid 2 million euros? Seems tinny. Anyone have an idea what Jozy's salary will be. What's Sunderlands wage budget?

If you google him, they have a salary listing of 1.5million pounds which sounds about right for a small club like Sunderland. Also read he took a pay-cut when he joined. I'm guessing Jozy must have a close salary. At least 25,000 pounds a week.

They signed him. This is good news. The more service Jozy gets the better.

That's peanuts compared to what Bale is making a week.

Wouldn't expect Jozy to be pulling 100 K pounds a week would you?

    Which is it?

    8 I'm taking over, 10 under. So I guess 9. :D

Hopefully I'm wrong and he scores 19... just 0 on LFC.

If guys like Cisse, Ba, Yakubu, and Holt can score double digit goals in England then I don't see why Jozy can't. Mark him down for 14 EPL goals this year.

Not a terrible point! 9 is already feeling low... or I'm just drinking the kool aid. Whatever, can't wait to see him play week in week out.

Especially Holt. Though I recalled when he went to Hull, a lot of people were openly expecting over 10 goals. And how that turned out  But I really expect him to score at least 10 league goals. Anything over that would be a success.

He's a different player from his time at Hull. The 2010 Altidore could barely hit a sitter. The 2013 Altidore has found his finishing boots. As long as he continues with his AZ form he will be a succes, IMO.

Tom Huddlestone is the latest name being linked with SAFC. They must not have been happy about almost getting relegated.

PDC was very vocal at the end of the season of wanting to turn over the squad. He wanted 12 new players.

Was Fletcher a success? I honestly don't follow Sunderland at all, and I wonder if that "success" was because of his hot start. He had 5 goals in his first 4 Premier league games with Sunderland, but only 6 more in the next 22, for 12M£ That's not a great payoff.

Also, as you alluded, he did get hurt in March and missed their last 8 games, so if Jozy doesn't get hurt, that's around 15 league goals, I think that's a lot to ask, personally.

Look, the Prem is a top tier league. I wouldn't set expectations too high. 10 goals would be a great first year.

    That's Ridiculous.
Double digits in the league and a few in cup matches would be a solid year.

  21. I think his perceived success depends on so many factors.

If the team does well and can somehow get a EL spot then it may not matter if he scores less than 10 goals as long as he works hard and has positive contributions in every game. One thing about the EPL is that fans, managers, and players really appreciate the little things.

If Jozy is holding up, dishing out, tracking back, getting involved, and generally making things happen, then the actual number of goals will not matter as long as the team is winning.

The key for him is that he must work hard. He cannot appear to be half-assing it at any time, because that is when the fans will turn on him.

First Hull City, now Sunderland. Next stop Sheffield? Not exactly seeing the glamour cities in England, is he?

    Attention:
Sunderland basically have captured Giaccherini. Conte said it himself so it's really happening. Johnson, sessegnon,Larsson, giac,McLean. Who starts on the wings.

Not exactly the Freddy Adu method of picking beautiful locales (Philly excepted).
