Sunday (1/29) Estadio Universitario 10AM Pacific meh... i honestly do not know what to expect with Ambriz as coach. the guy sucked during his tenure in San Luis.
Don Marco replaced Pina as a starter in practice with his return from the national team, which means Ambriz is still considering starting Nava.
Hoping for the best and to be proven wrong, but honestly it'll just be a season to forget. Ambriz won't last a full season.
Based on the starting line up it's a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 Michel Ponce, Alvarez,Reynoso, Magallon Nava, Araujo, Gallardo, Baez Fabian, Torres
i've liked how well we've been recuperating the ball. so far, not bad. we gotta attack more down the wings though because Pumas have the middle heavily congested.
I missed the pressing and fast passing that chivas used to have and now got it back from Ambriz. Looks good.
We haven't created anything at all, but we look a little bit more organized which is better than before, I guess.
I feel asleep the first half. Lots of imprecision passes, puro pelotazo al Arco and lots of crappy centers. This is what I want to see get fixed against Morelia now that nacho will have the whole week to train
Still no offence at all. Defense still looks shaky The only improvement is the team is more organized.
well, at least we didn't lose but seriously, even at our worse Pumas still plays us like a bunch of pussies only thing i liked about our team is that they recuperated the ball well. our offense, or lack there of, sucked. it didn't help either that Pumas just sat back. hopefully with Ambriz actually having a full week to train with the team helps and we look better next Saturday
I also fell asleep during the match, in part because I was sleepy.. Still I woke up in time for La Torre de Jalisco to ask Bracamontes if what Vergara says is true; that Chivas is a Championship caliber team.. I was curious to hear the response of a former Chivas coach but Braca just went around it and didn't really answer anything. Bracamontes just said that Vergara feels that he has provided everything the team needs to win a championship, meh. In any case the thought that came to mind was that Chivas has become that $10 Big Mac. Vergara sells us on the idea of Chivas being a top club (Ferarri) when in reality it is no more than a mid table team with "potential", thats it, nothing less nothing more. Now, I am not expecting much from Ambriz and I wont blame him if the team suck's arse. We all saw what Quirarte was capable of and should have not expected better when it was clear that the squad would not get any reinforcements. This whole logic that because X players get more playing time they will get better is flawed because not all of the players will improve. Then it becomes a gamble to rely on players that are not good enough and expect them to get better.. As pointed out in another thread at this point Chivas only has one National Team caliber player. Chivas, when truly competetive, has had at least 3-4 National Team caliber players. That we only have one such player and he is not even in the starting elleven says a lot. Lady and Gent's, this will indeed be a long season. And even if the squad manages to get into Liguilla or CL knockout round we can not expect much being that Chivas lacks depth to make a serious challange for Silverware. So, we are stuck in this mediocre loop. Vergara brings in coaches, that are not successful, expects them to be successful, and fires them when the team is not performing as he expects.. Anyone enjoying their $10 Big Mac yet?
