The technical staff have called up the same players as they did for the game against Real Madrid, with the exception of Xavi Hernández. The Catalan midfielder is replaced by Cristian Tello.

Manager Gerardo Martino decided to leave out Oier, Ibrahim Afellay, Martín Montoya and Xavi while Carles Puyol, Jonathan Dos Santos and Isaac Cuenca are still injured.

The complete squad: Valdés, Pinto, Piqué, Fàbregas, Pedro, Iniesta, Alexis, Neymar Jr, Messi, Mascherano, Bartra, Sergio Busquets, Song, Jordi Alba, Tello, Adriano, Dani Alves, Sergi Roberto

Well no Xavi means no 3 attacking midfielders I would think, and Pedro and Sanchez seem like the most worthy non-starters (in the Clasico) due for a start, followed by Bartra and/or Adriano. Have to be careful as every game is huge now, so we don't want to rotate too much, however we also play at Espanyol on Saturday and they always play us tough, followed by Atletico visiting Tuesday, 4th game in 10 days, though luckily no real travel since returning from the Clasico win.

    I'd like to see this:
    VV
    Alves-Bartra-Pique-Adriano
    Cesc-Busquets-Iniesta
    Sanchez-Messi-Pedro

which allows us to rest Neymar, Alba, Masch, and Xavi for the next game. If we get the game in hand give some other squad players time and rest starters.

I would sub Messi if we end up 3 goals ahead before an hour mark.

Sad no Rafinha for this match...would have liked to have seen him. He reaggravated a foot injury I believe - nothing too serious.

Great opportunity to put more pressure on LPB as the difficult away game awaits them after our match. Enough talk about every game being a final, it's time to show that in the field as well. I want to see a Barca trying to thump Celta from the first second.

    i like your lineup.
i think neymar needs minutes more than rest right now to get his form back though.
although i agree that alexis and pedro also deserve to play.

    From this morning's training session:
25 consecutive first touches in 25 seconds in a game of Rondo.

yeah, Neymar is not as much in need of rest in the midst of this grueling stretch of games as other players might be, but Pedro and Sanchez need to keep their great form (and deserve minutes) and were just rested. So I prefer this unless Tata wanted to play Messi at attacking midfielder (since he only gets assists anymore ;)) then he could also rest Ini or Cesc and play Messi plus A, P, & N. BUT that will not happen, this game is too important for a disruptive experiment.

So I'd prefer we get Neymar in (and Messi off) with a couple goal lead. Also get some rest for Ini or Cesc or Busquets (S'berto or Song on) with a lead. Finally get a little rest for one more of our regular D starters (A-P-M-A) I've already got two not starting, and Montoya is in the stands, so in my hypothetical lineup it would mean Masch spelling Pique or Alba spelling Alves (with Adriano switching sides).

#I think Pedro has done well enough lately to merit a start at some match soon

Wow you have that before Barcastuff even posted it. I like resting Pique and Alves (even if I suggested resting the two other regular defensive starters, Alba and Masch). I like resting Xavi given the workload but worry about resting Xavi AND Sergi at the same time, but hope Song's understanding with Cesc helps out there. I'm all for starting Sanchez and helping Neymar get his groove back (and being purely on the left will help), and always starting Messi in important games, but damn, what's Pedro gotta do to get a start?

Hope we can get a nice lead and sub off 3 more starters with 20+ minutes to go.

So we have 9 more matches left, need to win them all, expect Leo to start them all, what the chance that he can get this record this season. It would mean 15 in 9 to tie, and 16 in 9 to beat the all time record and with 16 in 9 he'd also have the better goals / game average which is the one where Telmo Zarra really excels.

Too funny, I checked BarcaStuff for the lineup but then got caught scanning the rest of his page and thinking about what I just posted and must not have re-loaded. I also tend to check his page on FB rather than Twitter so maybe there's a slight lag there.

I am hoping Messi bags a few more braces and hat tricks as I would LOVE to see him break the record when I am at the camp Nou at the last match of the season against A.M

I'd be happy with zero goals for Messi for the rest of the season, as long as we get the title.

I mean, Messi is my favourite player and all, but records schmecords. Gotta get more cowbell titles.

That said, 15 goals in 9 matches for Messi to break Zarra's Liga record? Maybe. Unlikely. When we lead a match by three goals or something, I'm cool with subbing Messi out, as we have CdR final coming up and CL battles against Atletico (and maybe semis, and maybe final).

If Messi scores another hat trick tonight it will be a hat trick of hat tricks in a row and that has got to be another record right?

Also would be cool if he broke the record in fewer games.
