Exactly. Take a look at that young kid Magaña I think is his name. He plays with the youth teams hasn't been promoted yet, and he's been invited to go try out with Liverpool. That's awesome for the kid congratulations. Really happy for him it's a huge opportunity, BUT why sell a youth player to Europe when it is clear our senior team is being stepped on. Selling key players is one of the reasons why our team is terrible right now with 18 year olds on the bench. Keep the kid, let him develop, let him prove himself with the 1st team when the time is right, give him some national games to prove himself at an international level, and THEN sell him to Europe. Vergara sees the dollar sign and immediately wants to cash in.

It's like Dàvila. Player with great potential, never did anything for us at a club level because he was sold as soon as a big club came knocking. Now he's being wasted in the second division of Spain or wherever he's loaned at.

Pretty sure the club is powerless if a Youth Player decides to leave before he has a professional contract. They'll get paid development rights at best.

I agree with the general idea though. Vergara stance on selling has changed since he told Marco Fabian he would not get sold until he won a title with Chivas. Marco Fabian then sulked the following seasons until he got himself transferred.

I don't know if it was the best way to go about it, but it should be the general philosophy that drives the club. We are not a selling club and player shouldn't be looking for a move to Europe after 1 okay season.

In past game threads I've read stuff like "bla bla...Fierro doesn't deserve to be in this team....he should go to Europe at least!". That kind of attitude is almost as bad as wanting foreigners in the team.

True for Chivas not for America and Pumas. America has won titles and done great recently. All those players you mentioned are great for America (except Osvaldo). Everybody points to having one great star like Zamorano, Chuco or Cabañas but it's better to have a cast like they have now than those times with Cabañas and a bunch of shit. Pumas has had crap teams for a while and worse than this one. We don't have money and when our cantera dries up, we're screwed. Like what is happening with Chivas.

Chivas may not have the worst team but it's been terrible and definitely one of the low points. That is a key problem and Vergara keeps deflecting with his cantera and terrible signings to deflect from the fact he stinks at his job.

As the saying goes there is a thin line between bravery and stupidity. My take on this match is that Real went balls out thinking a win over our rivals would light a fire in the teams arse and it backfired. While America has been under performing they are still a club that has been in two consecutive league finals. Chivas on the other hand is still rebuilding and so far from championship material that the best we can hope for is a win over our rivals to salvage a mediocre season. That said, we have to accept the fact that rebuilding process can take a while and the best we can do is back the team up. Vergara has removed himself from the spotlight and has complied with the coaching staff.
